ARP main stud interface with oil pump

Do 'Milodon' do a Mains Stud Kit also? Never tried one because everyone just goes straight to ARP..... but I wonder if their kit has the same issue? In this case I guess....modification of the ARP Stud is what I would be trying.

    Critique my mismatched Teen Build.

Yes I know.. Build it already!!! Small update to the above. The Weiand Stealth intake has been swapped out for an Eddy Air-Gap, mainly due to the massive difference in Port sizes and therefor much easier matching to the gasket and Eddy Heads. ( The tiny ports and casting irregularities...

    roller rocker recommendations

About to throw some Hughes Rockers on my Eddy heads. Hopefully geometry works out ok. The Comp Pro Magnums seem to have a good rep also but I have not used them. :D Cheers, Teedog

Ok... Yeah, I was obviously on some serious drugs when I typed that in... Whoops.. Long day. Thanks for pointing that out Mr. Rumblefish360. Lol.

Yep, I'm hearing ya.. Converter and Diff Gears will play a big part in where I end up with this. Gonna need to find a converter guy I guess. I will also be running the MP Chain Tensioner. Haven't looked at a Valley Baffle though, is it a custom made thing? and purely to control oil? I have...

How angry does the little Teen sound with that Solid Xs268s cam? As a step up from the Xe262 I am now considering the following Comp Cams options. (Bearing in mind it is not a strip car... but a Feisty Performance Street Cruiser that can scare off a few others when and if required)...

    Critique my mismatched Teen Build.

Ok.. so I would certainly be happy to look into stepping up to a solid cam and lifters however my question would now be this... Would the Edelbrock 'Sure Seat' Valve Springs #5767 as are currently on the heads, be usable on any of the following camshafts? Comp 270s - I suspect this one...

Yeah.. I was probably a little misleading with my original description of the standard Borgy diff. Plenty of cars running quick times with these modified. Cheers, Teedog

You wouldn't consider a solid cam worth trying with similar or slightly higher specs seeing that I already have the adjustable rocker gear? Cheers, Teedog

So having said that, how would the Solid Xs268s compare to the Hydraulic Xe268 at the lower end of the Rpm range? Or the low lift 270s? Cheers, Teedog

Thanks all. All comments, advice and criticism much appreciated. As I said, first build so am still learning. It looks like my HP estimate figure seems to be around the mark then.. that's great. So if i was to move up to an Xe268 hydraulic or equivalent, there would be perhaps another 20-25...

Heya Guys.. and Gals of course. Below are the specs of the 318 I am building. No.. I'm not building a 360. What sort of HP figure and performance do you think I might achieve with this perhaps somewhat mismatched set of parts I have gathered. This is my first ever build and yes I realize...

    Stealth intake to Eddy Heads

Hey guys, Does anything need to be done in regards to sealing off the heat cross-over on a Weiand Stealth intake when fitting it up to Edelbrock Heads which of course do not allow for this. My guess is nothing... just bolt her up with the gasket and forget about it? Can anyone confirm...

    Head Gasket Hole Sizing?

For those that say (in my case) are dealing with a 0.020" over 318, the 1008 gasket is just too massive. I'm not seeing a lot of alternatives for me in the 0.035" to 0.040" thick range other than the rather expensive cometics. Felpro 1008 is their supposed one size fits all I guess. Sealing...

    Head Gasket Hole Sizing?

Have always wondered about this myself. Have noted alot of people using or recommending the Felpro 1008 previously however it does have the huge gasket bore diameter of 4.180" Why so big? Cheers, Teedog

    Stock Rocker Ratios

OK thanks for that guys. Will assess my options. There are a set of 273 rockers for sale here locally but without shafts or spacers. Not too expensive so I might take a look at those perhaps. Thanks again, Teedog

    Stock Rocker Ratios

Hey all, I am led to believe that the Stock steel stamped rockers were generally not quite up to their Factory rocker ratio rating of 1.5:1 however are the ductile iron adjustable rockers as those found on the solid cammed 273 small blocks any more accurate. I'm just not keen on throwing...

LA318 Edelbrock Magnum v RHS LAX Heads

Hey.. Not thread stealing because I feel this is relevant to some extent at least. I am also bolting together a Mild LA 318 at present along similar lines i guess. I am going with the LA style Edelbrock 60779 Alloy head but have stepped up to KB167 Hyper pistons and zero decked my block...

Yeah man for sure... read all the literature and numerous threads on this... will be super careful with the gaps to get them spot on as per KB's recommendations. Cheers, Teedog

    KB Piston Kits

OK thanks for that guys.. I do already have the kit but it certainly gives no indication of the manufacturer at all. Going in a 20thou over 318... Mildly warmed over for a crisp street cruiser... Naturally aspirated and will very rarely ever see the strip so I guess they should be ok then...

    KB Piston Kits

Hey does anyone happen to know "what brand of rings" UEM (United Engine Machine) supply with their KB piston and ring kits? Plain wrapper budget no name brand? Would they be el-cheapo rubbish? Surely they wouldn't risk selling them with utterly useless rings that will straight out fail...
