    New video idle and revs

Wish I knew the specs on my motor. The last owner did not know. Tried to get a hold of the owner before him, no response. But it runs and revs well. What do you all think? Mild cam? roller? The MSD has the rev limiter at 6000 rpm. I do know that it is a 68 block. Not sure of compression. Any...

    What are your water temps?

After mine warms up, it seems to run about 180. Is that acceptable? My modern day cars run much hotter. What do yours run? (Outside temp here in Cali today was about 71 degrees.)

    Transmission cooler question

I don't race it at the track, but I do take it out occasionally for some rather, should I say, spirited driving! It probably will never go over a 45 mile trip at one time. That's to a car show, to show it off.:burnout:

    Vapor Lock question

Think I am gonna vent the filler neck and run a hose along the neck and down under near the frame. Sort of like this one I found on the net, only difference it that it will connect into filler neck near top. Thanks for all the knowledgeable info!

    Transmission cooler question

Is it really necessary to have a small radiator auxiliary cooler for the transmission? Or will it be ok through the radiator? Don't drive it far, or even a lot. Think it will be ok? It is a reverse valve body tranny, thanks.

    Vapor Lock question

I will have to look into this further. Mine is by no means stock. Wonder if that changes things? I have an electric fuel pump near tank, and very heavy duty and rather large fuel lines running to carb. The car was never meant for long rides, but built for dragging. The gas cap is painted the...

    Vapor Lock question

After a short drive, say 3-5 miles. I open the gas cap and get quite a lot of air rushing in the tank. Could I soon get vapor lock? Why is the cap not allowing air to replace gas? Could it be plugged? Is there a way to check it? Should I drill a small pin hole in the cap to allow air to come...

Any good Mopar mechanics in Bay Area?

Nothing major, just small stuff, gas gauge does not work, the number one issue I want fixed first! Has no heater unit or controls,( may or may not install them, they came with car) Speedo a bit jumpy. In the future, may put disc brakes in front, switch reverse valve trans to 4 speed pistol grip...

First real ride out in my Petty Blue 72

Finally changed oil using 20-50 Valvoline racing oil with zinc. I was told to use it because of the cam. Not really sure engine specs, last owner bought it already built with no paper work. Oil pressure when started, pegs gauge, then when warm is above 70psi. The dude I bought it from never...

    Much Happier with my Mopar!!

Last summer I owned a Ferrari Mondial T. It was very cool, enjoyed the experience, but the maintenance scared me off from long term ownership and overall enjoyment, ( on my budget ). But the Duster boils my blood! Feel like I am in high school again! Nothing like the muscle car sound!

    Decoding fender tag

You all really know your stuff! I don't have the broadcast sheet, or really any information on or about the car itself. I am trying to contact the owner who sold it to the one I bought it from. Looked up his name in phone book white pages, and he still is listed in Madera Ca, but tel number...

    Decoding fender tag

My first Mopar! I hear that the fender tag tells all. Can anyone tell me how to get the information on how this car came from the factory? Here is a picture I took today of the fender tag. I looked on the internet, but some did not come up, EN2, U , and others, can anyone tell me exactly how...

    Oil question

Thanks for all the advice. I am going to try to contact previous owner, if possible, to find out more details. I don't really want to drive it with that older oil in it. But when it is changed, I am gonna put the petal to the metal! Hope this rain clears soon so I can!

    Oil question

What would you all recommend for oil in my 340? Don't know much about the specs on this car from previous owner in Alta Loma Ca, but I am trying to reach the owner that had it before in Madera Ca. Maybe some one out there recognizes this car? It certainly has a thumpy cam, and revs quick. I...
