Why would gold status affect anything.....it doesn’t give anyone any special abilities.... Far as I know the gold status eliminates the pop ups and ads when your a member......I have had mine lapse for a day or two but don’t recall any problems other than the ads etc.... Why are you not logged...

You are correct but a claim of any type can be initiated by either party involved. Ebay suggested for me to handle the claim process and their reasoning was it would get resolved quicker that way. Basically, no good deed goes unpunished.
