Convertible at a car show in the rain

Is your dash pad original, a cap, or restored? It looks good, and I know I'm going to have to redo mine.

    A Pillar convertible

Good to see you 65! I’m finally trying to pull the trigger on this thing. I got some money saved up, and I got a couple rare parts that have lit a small fire under me to get this done. Fingers crossed!

    A Pillar convertible

Crazy question. My Dart had original Left Hand lug nuts. Did yours as well? Dumbass mechanics broke most of them off through the years, so I don't think there are any left. :/

    A Pillar convertible

I wish I still had the build sheet. I found mine and stupidly stored it in the glove box. It got so dry-rotted that it disintegrated. Now the only thing keeping the originality of the car is my memory. I know there are repop bezels that you can buy from PG Classics, but mine is the only one...

I’d like to see it. The one that I got that was missing for 30 years was part 2770573. AC dash bezel for AM/FM radio

    A Pillar convertible

Nice. Looks like yours is almost a twin to mine, except for the color. Mine’s a 273 V8 2bbl GT, Auto, California convertible, bench seat, factory AC, AM/FM radio, Map light (courtesy package), manual mirrors, etc etc. I recently got a part that has been missing since the 80’s and can’t wait to...

    A Pillar convertible

Sorry. Inside. Chromed plastic, you say? So it should be as shiny as the chromed corner piece above it?

    A Pillar convertible

Is the A Pillar on the 67 Dart convertible supposed to be chrome? The original is so old I can’t tell.

    Original pans or repop?

Last question.. does anyone know a reputable paint and body guy in the Nashville / Middle Tennessee area? I’ve had bad luck in the past and don’t know anyone I can trust to do it right. My parents bought this car new, and I’m looking to take it back to original. I wanna see what it looked like...

    Original pans or repop?

Thanks guys. It’s a 67 Dart convertible, which brings me to another question. Is there a difference in the floor pans for a convertible? What other structural items might be different that I’ll need to look out for? I’m not going show quality, at least that’s not the plan, but I want to do it...

    Original pans or repop?

Yeah.. all things being equal, if you can find good metal, other than cost, is there any difference in quality? Correctness?

    Original pans or repop?

Original pans or repop? I see people on forums asking for floor pans, fenders, etc. What’s the difference between getting old, good metal or remanufactured? Pros, cons? I need floor pans for my convertible, but always assumed I would buy new pans. Now I’m not so sure. ‘67 Dart GT.

Looking for my old 67 Dart GT Convertible

I just looked at the listing. That wouldn’t be a GTS would it? It says Sport on the sticker, but I don’t think the VIN or other badging supports it. If it is, it’s extremely rare as a convertible’67 GTS!

Looking for my old 67 Dart GT Convertible

I hope you find it. I sold my mom’s 67 Dart convertible years ago and was lucky enough to buy it back from the guy 6 years later. I’m about to start a restoration on it.

To change or not to change...

So are you saying I’d get less performance out of a 4bbl? Or less performance than expected? To answer your question, it’s an automatic, probably with the original intake. (I assume single plane). Would I expect more horsepower out of a 4bbl upgrade, or just better reliability and less fire...

To change or not to change...

Thanks for the input. I’d like to stick with the same block, since it is original and my parents bought it new. Doesn’t sound like it will be worth it without a major overhaul. What could I do to gain hp on a 273 block? I do remember on a previous build it was bored .30 over. (Not being a...

To change or not to change...

My 67 Dart GT convertible has the original 273 2bbl. I’ve been considering upgrading to a 4bbl for the added horsepower, but I can’t decide. Should I keep it original, or should I beef it up? How much extra hp should I expect? Is it worth it?

    Radio bezel restoration

After years of looking, I’m finally getting a used bezel for the dash! In order to restore it, I have a few questions. Is the chrome on the plastic an actual chrome plating process or chrome paint? Would the non-chrome silver areas be the often-used argent silver? Are the black surfaces all the...
