I've got the 68 formula S 4 speed cam in my 69 dart swinger automatic trans . It needs a little torq converter but runs well. It also has some lope to it .

Just checked summit , too much money for me . Mine is a plain old 4777 no dashes. Just don't want to spend that much and wondering how my Dart is gonna run with a 650 dp ?

I tried that adjustment on my swinger, when the throttle is at wot does the linkage just barely touch the throttle rod ? When I'm driving the car kinda easy it upshifts too quick ( it needs to rev a little higher ) Thanx for the help.

I finally got my 340 running good but I have to have the distributor vacuum advance rotated way forward towards the intake manifold. I don't really like this but I can leave it if I have to . I removed the dist. several times to clock the vacuum advance more towards the fender, keeping my marks...

For some reason that doesn't look like an OE Chrysler switch . Is it ?

I had a friend at a machine shop fabricate an aluminum flat mounting pad for the ecm on the bottom side of the distributor , very much like the one sold over the net . Thats why I was asking about the wiring too. Thanx for the reply

Wow thanx guys now I can get her running this week ! Im really excited because my little 340 ran pretty good with that old worn out distributor , can't wait to see how it'll run now plus I'll get to tune out the Holley .

OK guys I bought an electronic distributor for my 69 dart with a 340 , also got a Delco electronic module (hei) and mounted it on the bottom of the distributor . I know the 2 wires from the dist. plug into the module and the other side plugs into the coil but my coil only has 1 terminal , what...

How about a 4b cummins ? I put one in a 1970 chevy short bed 4x4 and know its heavier than a big block.

I found out today my point distributor is worn out. I've been looking at electronic ignition and buying a distributor from O'Reillys (cardone) but not too sure of the quality. Does anybody suggest a good rebuilder or should I just find a core and rebuild it myself ? I can't afford much (MSD...

Are the Ferrea valves worth buying or not ? And is the Victor jr manifold a 2 plane manifold ? All this would be for a nice little street motor to take on some of the ricers around here .

The best thing you can do for an old "92" is supercharge it !

Thats the cam I have in my 69 dart swinger w/ the 340 . The car wakes up at about 4000 rpm but its really a dog from off idle . I had a set of 3:91 gears set up for me and I hope this helps. Charlie

My 340 does have the 4 speed formula S cam LD-340 intake and will have the 3:91 gears. So you think the 650dp will add a little to this motor ? I need to get the chrysler electronic ignition for it too some day .

At one time I had a Thermoquad & 5:13 gears . OMG that 340 really woke up when it hit passing gear , it would go sideways then hook up. It scared a few friends w/ big blocks.

Why would a 4 speed or auto matter ?

Well a friend has 2- 650 dp carbs that he said need a little work but either one is free & I do have a K&N on top already . Another friend sold me a 10.5" convertor out of his 383 he said had a little stall for $20.00 I just need to install it . I wonder if its going to have enough stall ?
