    Sniper EFI and ignition type

Good info there, thanks for that rmchrgr. I've most definitely got a full 12V in crank and run. Main power goes right to the battery, and my switched pink wire is on a relay that has its own feed directly from the battery also. I didn't want to chance anything with the wiring and being...

    Sniper EFI and ignition type

Well, I got it all buttoned up tonight. I initially switched the ignition all back to stock and had issues getting power across the ballast resistor. Dunno why, but it would have power on the hot side for both pins, but only power on the opposite side on one pin. So coil wasn’t getting power in...

    Sniper EFI and ignition type

And that was my whole dilemma yesterday when going over all my checks before doing initial, was "if this MSD 5300 is a CDI box, and I've hooked up to coil -ive, I'm about to fry my Sniper". Holley had no idea about this box and it was hard to find anything online, and if I did find anything it...

    Sniper EFI and ignition type

Thanks for all the replies guys, it appears there's still much more for me to dive into this project than initially anticipated. I was under the impression these things setup fairly easily, but maybe there's more hiccups with a Mopar setup? @67Dart273 , that manual is the one I am using yes...

    Sniper EFI and ignition type

In the midst of hooking up a Sniper EFI and have ran into some questions about which method to hook up the ignition wiring to it. My main issue is with what kind of box my MSD 5300 is. Here’s my ignition setup: Ignition control Unit: MSD 5300 (like an orange box, has the stock Mopar plug)...

    Failed Rocker Arm

@RAMM specs in post #16. But for refresh this was the parts list: Pushrods: Comp Cams 2112 (7.500" x 0.080") Valve Springs: Crane 99835-16 Retainers: COM743-16 Valves: Ferrea FERF5003-1 & FERF5005-1 I also did double check the measurement I wrote down, and it was 1.562". Unfortunately I don't...

    Failed Rocker Arm

Thanks again everyone for the information and replies. I would definitely agree with Jesse, the fact I cannot get an accurate measurement doesn't help with correct findings on installed spring height. There's really no flat part on the inside of the head casting to take an accurate measurement...

    Failed Rocker Arm

I'll give it another double check tonight and look at some others. Just to be clear, that measurement didn't include the spring cap. Out of curiosity, if the springs are getting to the point they're close to binding, is the solution different springs, different valves or both? This engine...

    Failed Rocker Arm

back from the dead! In the process of getting a shop built, so the repair has hit the back burner. Took other valve cover off and inspected all the other rocker arms and nothing seemed abnormal. Measured height turned out being 1.562”. Which was from top of spring to bottom, on the valve that...

    Failed Rocker Arm

Never got the chance to get out to the garage to look at the situation any more. @RustyRatRod, ouch...with exchange and shipping and taxes that's close to $1200 for a set of rocker arms....I think at that point I'd swap out the springs to the ones recommended to go with the cam. @GEO, if only...

    Failed Rocker Arm

I'll be popping out to the garage this weekend, see what I can find and get some more info and checking all the other rockers. @nm9stheham, I'll take you up on that offer. Once I get out and get some measurements I'll post back here with what I find. At this point, there seems to be a lot of...

    Failed Rocker Arm

Summit Racing 'Applications' tab shows the following: Installed Height (in): 1.600 in. Seat Pressure at Installed Height (lbs): 113 lbs. Open Height (in): 1.150 in. Open Pressure (lbs): 280 lbs. I don't know if this is correct. I could always confirm with the manufacturer.

    Failed Rocker Arm

Thanks for all the replies guys, here's all the info I got from the builder with the engine. Here's the cam spec card: And here's the info for the other components in the head (provided by the builder): Pushrods: Comp Cams 2112 (7.500" x 0.080") Valve Springs: Crane 99835-16 Retainers...

    Failed Rocker Arm

Have a LA 360 with EQ magnum heads on it. It's always had a little miss, which I attributed to ignition and carb issues, so I did plugs, wires, distributor and rebuilt the carb (needed a good clean anyways). The miss never really went away fully, but it wasn't horrible so I figured it was just...

    Wiring harness advice

Thanks for all the information and pointers guys, it's very much appreciated! Have a lot to ponder about which route I want to go. I'm going to give M&H a shout and confirm with them exactly what their 69 harness setup for electronic ignition is. As much as it is more expensive, I did contact...

    Wiring harness advice

Just to clairify, my Dart is a 1969, which may be what's causing me issues with finding a direct plug and play with everything correct. So, did a little more digging and reading. The harness I was looking at was the HU201AM (1966-74 A B E-Body Engine Forward Light Harness). After reading the...

    Wiring harness advice

Thanks for the info Mike69cuda, much appreciated. Wondering if you could clarify the plugs the engine harness has for the electronic ignition and electronic voltage regulator. My current setup is the Mopar orange box and I have the blue style voltage regulator (single stud on the case with the...

    Wiring harness advice

Just to revive this thread a bit, since I'm looking at doing my dash harness and engine bay/lighting harness in my 69 Dart Swinger. 1969VADart, I was looking at doing the exact combination you purchased. YearOne for the dash harness (HU310A), and Evans for the engine & headlight wiring [listed...

    Insulating From Header Heat

Engine's a 360, in a 79 D150. Running Hooker ceramic coated long tube headers. I'm going to be running an oil cooler using an oil filter adapter plate. I've been trying to plan the best way to run the cooler lines (to avoid heat, rubbing, sharp points etc) and was wondering what the best product...

    Engine Oil Cooler Install

Thanks again for the replies, sorry for my late response. @fishy68, something along the lines of this? B&M SuperCooler Oil Coolers 70274 Is that 1/2" tubes running through a bunch if fins (similar to an A/C coil), or is it like what Setrab is with a bunch of finned paths internally...

    Engine Oil Cooler Install

Thanks again for all the information guys, much appreciated. Seeing how the consensus is that cooler won't be good for my application, is there a certain make/model you guys are using or would recommend? Sifting through Summit there are a lot of options, and to be honest I wouldn't even know...

    Engine Oil Cooler Install

Thanks for all the replies and comments! A lot of great information to go through. Couple more questions, cause I seem to have the ear of some experience people here. I'm definitely going to avoid the transmission cooler, I was worried about restricting flow, but thought I'd ask cause I had it...

    Engine Oil Cooler Install

Recently found out that the engine I'm building up has a partial block fill, so I'm wanting to add an engine oil cooler just to make sure my oil temps don't get too high. Looking at using this sandwich plate: https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/ear-510erl/overview/ and was wondering if...

Definitely small block power steering bracket. I just sandblasted and painted one for the 360 for the LRE.

Magnum EQ Heads, what alternator fits?

@bobscuda67, surprisingly the belt alignment isn't far out. The small amount that it is isn't concerning my enough to make shims or buy shims. I went and checked the bely alignment on the Dart and it's actually a little worse, bone stock! @Lelo Dart, I thought about just running one belt, but...

Magnum EQ Heads, what alternator fits?

Got the bracket in last night, had a piece of stainless pipe kicking around that I bored out to make spacers, got a 5" long bolt and success! I have a little more adjusting to do, as it's still too close to the head for my liking, I'll probably just be using a washer to space it out just a touch...
