    One for the epoxy lovers

Hi Everyone - this reminded me of a question I've wondered about...has anyone ever filled in the exhaust gas recirculation ports in their stock SB heads? It seems like it would be a good idea to match the bowls...but I never wanted to tackle that chore.

Need help - 1968 Dodge Dart convertible - door won't open!

Thanks cudamark - I hadn't considered removing the linkages. Makes sense - I'll give it a try.

    Yes - didn't help a bit.

Need help - 1968 Dodge Dart convertible - door won't open!

We're working on the reassembly of a 68 Dodge Dart convertible. We installed the passenger door shell on the body - no windows or anything else, just the lock mechanism. Tried to open the door today and it won't! The rods are properly installed, and appear to be properly actuating the door latch...

    Identification printed wires?

That's what I usually do, but I'd like to up my game! How about anyone selling the same set of colors/stripes that the factory used?

    Identification printed wires?

I know some of the harness makers like Painless use wiring that has printing on the wires to label them...'DOME LIGHT', 'BRAKE LIGHT', 'ACCESSORY', etc. Does anyone sell such wire in bulk? Ideally in Mopar colors? I really don't want to rewire my entire car, but when I need to replace a wire...

So any good cam and lifters out there?

If anyone is interested, I have an old cam and lifters for sale! It's an old Competition Cams CRS 286H-8. I ran it for many years, and replaced it when I did a rebuild. The cam is in great shape, and I have all of the matching lifters IDd. I also have the appropriate springs for this cam if...

    Help - wipers!

Ha! At least 3 hours...one of which was spent finding the tiny little clip that sprung up under the dash. Finally found the little bastard hiding under the ignition switch. But yes, it's done - and I need to drive it tomorrow in what is expected to be a heavy rain!

    Help - wipers!

Fixed - it turns out that it was the little plastic cam inside the gear assembly. It can be put in two different ways, but only one works! Other than losing the little spring clip under the dash for about an hour, it was a pretty easy fix.

    Help - wipers!

I found a thread on an AMC forum that includes some great pictures and descriptions. https://theamcforum.com/forum/prestolite-wiper-park-function-question_topic109071_page1.html I think the culprit might be that the white pick-shaped cam is mislocated. I'll need to pull the motor down to be sure.

    Help - wipers!

I did pull the bezel away and re-installed and tighten the wiper switch last night; no change. Looking into the details of the 'park' mechanism now. Mine is older than the one halifaxhops pictured above. Mine's a ERQ-4006-12V, 244.

    Help - wipers!

1964 Barracuda with the deluxe variable-speed wipers. I decided to renew my wipers after 58 years. I removed, cleaned, lubed, and sealed the wiper arm pivots. Never one to leave well-enough alone, I decided to pull the motor out and clean it up, too. I pulled the back plate off of the motor...

    Shoulder belts - roll bar?

I am going with a 5-point harness, but this car will see more street than race, so I also want a standard 3-point shoulder/lap belt. At this point I'm looking at Seatbeltsplus, something like this: 3 Pt Dual Sensitive Retractable Seat Belt Chrome Lift Latch, Black I think it will require a...

    Shoulder belts - roll bar?

I'm planning to install a basic roll bar in my '64 Barracuda. I'd like to have shoulder belts in the car, and I think the upper mount should be attached to the roll bar. Have any of you done this? If so I'd like to know where you got your shoulder belts, and pictures would be a bonus! Thanks.

    Battery Shutoff switch location question

I appreciate all the input - maybe I can clarify. I've attached another pic that I've marked up using my awesome editing skills. I've drawn the switch (it's that black rectangle thing) approximately where it will sit below the floor. The dashed silver line is where the rod will be. Note that it...

    Battery Shutoff switch location question

Hi Folks - I have relocated my battery to the trunk, on the passenger side. If I want to go to a track, I need a power cutoff switch. I know how to wire it in, but I've been trying to figure out the best location. The picture attached is the underside of the area where my battery is. (The...

Turn Signal Switch & Brake Light Questions

This is an old post, but let me ask a question, as I've been wondering about this too. I believe that the front turn signals are completely independent from the brake, parking, and headlamp circuits - so might the easy way be to simply splice into those wires to feed the new back lamps? I'm...

Found an aluminum shroud that will work with the 22” oe style radiator

Thanks Uncle Bob - don't know why I couldn't think of that!!!!!

Found an aluminum shroud that will work with the 22” oe style radiator

When I checked a few months ago, the cost was $200 for the shroud. Question - is it possible to install the shroud without removing the fan? Alternately, how tricky was it to install the fan with the shroud in place? Looks tight!

Found an aluminum shroud that will work with the 22” oe style radiator

I just ran across this old article and will probably talk to Wizard soon about this shroud - looks great! But I'm wondering about your fan/clutch setup. I have less than 3" from the front of my water pump to the fins of the radiator. Do you know if yours is 'thin' enough to fit? If so, do you...

Another gauge corrector--cheaper than MeterMatch, 33.00

So I gotta ask - is anybody old-school on this board? These gauges are 'adjustable' so this can be done manually. But it's a real PIA because the adjustment is very finicky. I've got mine close, where the pointer is just at the bottom of the Empty line and I have about 4 gallons in the tank. At...

68 Barracuda Fastback -best fitting roll bar?

Hi Cope - I've been considering putting a 'back half' roll bar and have been looking at pictures. The cars I've seen have the main loop welded to a plate on the rear floor, which is not much more than sheet metal. I would have thought the loop would be sturdier of mounted over the area where the...

    Need A833 advice

Thanks Kosmic! That video describes exactly what I was seeing - the synchro ring sort of screwed itself onto the first gear cone. Fortunately, I did basically what he prescribes, but rather than using the lube he used, I used the transmission assembly lube that Brewer's sells.

    Need A833 advice

I pulled the transmission last weekend, pulled the mainshaft, removed the rear bearing, and checked everything. All looked OK, but it was easy to reproduce the 'locking' behavior by hand. I experimented with several used brass synchro rings, and found the one that grabbed properly, but didn't...

    Need A833 advice

Since I have so many experts on this thread - does anyone have a set of measurements for the mopar clutch forks? I'm looking for both overall length AND the distance between the center of the throwout bearing and the pivot point. I have two forks and two pivots, and neither combination is...

    Need A833 advice

Jeez - a lot of activity here! Yes, I centered the bellhousing. It's definitely within tolerance. Yes, the bearings are correct, and are correctly in place, and the correct size. (A 'thicker' bearing would not fit, and the snap ring fits snugly, as it should.) I assembled this transmission by...
