maybe it was originally , but the switch on the tranny has 3 prongs and the shifter is on the floor hump.

Just got back from the machine shop , where I was told to find another 340 block. So what I have is a 73 340 boat anchor I need to replace ! The last rebuilder forgot to install the internal rear oil gallery plug and the 2 front plugs ! Sooo anyone got or know of a rebuildable 340 short...

I'd start with a band adjustment. after smelling the ATF for burnt cherry smell.

YOU MIGHT ALSO START WITH LOOKING AT ,AND CLEANING ALL THE GROUND WIRING POINTS YOU CAN FIND, THEN CHECK ALL THE CONNECTION POINTS FOR LOOSE OR CORRODED PINS AND SOCKETS, ELIMINATE THEOSE FIRST ,THEN GO DEEPER, ANYWHERE THEY WIRES MOVE IS THE NEXT PLACE TO CHECK FOR ABRASION OR BROKEN WIRES.
