Hemi Swapping a perfectly good 70 Duster

I love everything about this car and build. Well, except the drive, because he's young and a much better driver than I am, for now

You can calibrate 0-100% anyway you want, so it doesn't have to be open 100% to call it 100%. That's kind of where I am, it's pretty close so I bought a 92mm throttle body to compensate.

No Problem Raceway? I'm so fortunate that the STL SCCA autocross venue is about 6 miles from my house. We had 155 cars yesterday! The Sunday before, April 14th, Boeing Autocross also holds open events at the same location where they limit to no more than 75 cars. So I've already autorcross'd at...

Do I wait for the 5 speed?

I also have the GFI 855, a VERY early (March 2014, 3rd A-Body) unit that definingly needed some love from GFI, the original and still the manufacture of these units. All the bugs have been worked out of the newer units. Mine went back to GFI to address the issues, was corrected and turned within...

Your wiring solution looks very clean, much better than the rat's nest I have mostly hidden! I love the lifting bracket, I want one and so will many other s it does a much better job of distributing the weight across many bolts! That starter is the bomb. It so much smaller than the traditional...

I run a Champion radiator with a Ford Contour V6 duel electric fan that is almost a perfect fit for a 26" radiator. I also included a picture of the 2005 RAM 2500 5.7 manual starter that I use next to a typical mini-starter. Hope that helps.

This car looks pretty good as I just couldn't have a POS to drive. However, I built it to drive, drag, autocross and track. It absolutely had to be functional and handle abuse. Autocross will shake anything lose that is not tight. It also twists the car in violent ways when going through the...

Back home March 20th, installed new Corbeau LG1 (W) seats (approved by my youngest grandson) and brackets for autocross. Also updated the front swaybar links, replaced the upper ball joints with taller ones all to improve handling on the autocross course. That bug has bit me bad! And she's back...

Pulled the motor and trans on December 30th to get the 855 issues corrected by GFI as I have a very early build. Seems all better now! Reinstalled the K-member and brought the car back home for the two months it was down. Also upgraded the oil pan.

I just installed the Corbeau LG1 (W) with brackets using the stock lap and shoulder belts in the Duster before autocross school March 30th. I love these seats. No more being tossed against the door cards and holding on to the steering wheel!

I just received the brackets from Courbeau. They look the same as yours plus they include duel locking sliders. They line up perfectly with the stock bucket seat holes.

I can tell you from experience that the last thing you need on the street is more low speed torque. My 6.1 run a Frank Racing Scud camshaft, .219/.223, .571/.574. It made 420FLBS to the wheels @ 3200RPM, 405HP @ 5800RPM and carries 400HP to 6900RPM! I shift at about 6500/6600RPM. I run the 855...
