    Six Pack Glass Hood

Back in May I sadly smoked a deer on my way back from a show. It smashed my grill, fender, radiator, fan, and bent my steel hood pretty good. Looking at lightening up and going with a glass hood but am open to opinions. Is there a consensus on who makes the best sixpak fiberglass hood? I've been...

    Fresh third member setup question

So I just got off the phone with them and he said he set it up a little tighter for performance reasons. More of a competition set up I guess. Back lash .004, preload about 16-17 inch pounds and he didn't measure the turning torque

    Fresh third member setup question

Like I said I had a local shop do this because I don't have the specialty tools. I will call and ask what they set it at. Any other specs that would be good to know

    Fresh third member setup question

So I had a local shop set up my third member and I feel it may be too tight. All new parts including the case, except for the spool. But when I go to turn it by hand, I can do it but there's a fair amount of resistance. Feels like turning a wheel with a brake dragging. Here's the pattern. With...

    741 gears

Thanks Lefty I did see that but I'm trying to stay at 3.91 or go lower. Right now I trap below peak power as it is and 3k at 60mph doesn't bother me

    741 gears

I appreciate it Rusty. Yeah I'm really hoping somebody on here might have a set. It's actually where I got my first set

    741 gears

My pinion nut came loose on me while driving and the pinion ate my ring gear. Is there anywhere that sells a 3.91 or 4.10 for the 741 housing? Also if anyone here has any in good shape let me know. Thank you

    [WANTED] 741 3.91 or 4.10 gears

Looking for a set of 3.91s or 4.10s for the 741 case that are in good shape. Thank you in advance

Is a pistol grip shifter a good choice for power shifting/drag racing?

I run a '72 Duster with bench seat and pistol grip shifter. Powershifting was impossible at first because of my clutch setup. After straightening that out its not bad at all. I find the shifter is comfortable and not an issue at all. The biggest thing with no-lift shifting is practice and...

    First Time Drag racing

I have the assortment of holley pump cams. It has a .31 nozzles in it. I bought some .35s but haven't tried them yet. Thanks for the tip and will try it out. The trouble is I can't test this on the street because it doesn't bog unless it hooks. BFGs don't hook

Thats a great looking demon and a hemi to boot. The disease is definitely creeping in. It's an addiction but you meet a lot of cool people along the way.

    First Time Drag racing

Made it back to the track for the first time this season last Sunday. Few precise changes were made. I messed around with the timing and made a few pulls on the street the night before and it felt like an improvement. I need some timing tape. Got my powershifting working pretty good. Only missed...

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

Thank you sir. They tucked up well and are very easy to take off for at the track. Dr. Gas Boomtubes are awesome looking but pricy. I'd love to put them on a superbird or a 70 monte Carlo. From what I've seen of them they have a similar design to spintechs in their baffled tubes. Also very low...

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

Well I ended up going with the 3" dynomax race bullets (the 12" ones). Simple 3" pipe into bullet then exits out the sides with 3" tips. Sounds much deeper than the 18" collector extentions and less harsh. Only loud when stepping on it otherwise its a good volume. I will try and upload a video...

    Clutch Pedal Not Returning

Could just be worn to the point of needing adjustment or out of adjustment. I recently put a new clutch in(last summer) and just yesterday readjusted it because the pedal was hanging up about an inch shy of full return. Adjusted the bearing to clutch finger clearance and good as new. Mike

Going to have to find a different one. I'll never be getting rid of this scout. Too much sentimental value with it being my grandpa's. But she does have good taste

    Young Guns

My other project is a 1966 International Scout 800 that my grandpa had in the barn since before I was born. Drove it through the second half of high school in the winter, without heat. It is very rusty to begin with. I'll be replacing most of the metal once I have my own garage to tear it apart...

It looks enty good enough. I asked because I'll need to do mine at some point, its fairly thin. I agree on a stroker. I've got one all planned out for mine. Just don't have the 6k+ to throw at it

You have a very good looking dart. Did you replace the vinyl top yourself?

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

You have a very nice looking car. What tips are those? How's the noise level and drone with the M80s? Clearance issues?

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

Another perk to the side exits. Shorter, lighter, and way easier to remove for the track
  24. moparmike98

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

Clearance did worry me but I figured I could get away with a smaller muffler like the bullet especially with 275/60s and SS springs.

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

I have under chassis headers. I know thats how they were but I don't care fore that design. Rerouting the exhaust 180* has to kill a fair amount of power. Most law enforcement I've run into don't care about old cars in good condition. I'll be running the pipe off the headers, into the mufflers...

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

I do frequently run my 18" x 3.5" collector extentions on the street

    Side exit/AAR style exhaust

I'm looking at going this route soon and am wondering, for those who have or had it, what mufflers you ran? I am going 3 inch. Was looking at dynomax race bullets, ultra flos, or possibly black widows. Open to suggestions as well except Flowmaster. I like the sound of the ultras but I don't know...

    Young Guns

I brought this home almost 7 years ago when I was 15 and have been enjoying it ever since. New upholstery up front, carpet, POR 15 floors, side stripe, reconditioned vinyl top, TTI headers, MSD ignition, Bigs carb, SS springs, clutch, rear gears, and whatever else I missed. Drove it all through...

    First Time Drag racing

Thanks man. That's what I am hoping for Just need to get out of the hole and it should be home free. It launched hard but immediately fell on its face. The funny part was with every launch it ejected my radio head out of the dash. It apparently wasn't secured well. I definitely want to get...

    First Time Drag racing

Well I finally ran it again on Sunday and it was way better. The new clutch shifted great at 6400. No more shooting ducks in higher rpms. There is still the bog at the hit, I didn't have any discharge nozzles to test. The track was packed so I only got 3 runs in test and tune before bracket...
