Should I adjust the timing with the car in gear?

The idle remains consistent in and out of gear.

I don't know what cam, engine was already together I never pulled it apart. I did change out the spark plugs, no change. The RPM is at 1000 when I measure initial timing.

When I remove the drivers side front turn signal bulb, the passengers side turn signal still works. Is that the way it is suppose to work?

I did the same swap last year 71 340 in a 72 Dart. I used the 318 mounts, just use a longer bolt and spacer for the drivers side. The passenger side mount is the same. You can use the exhaust manifolds, intake and dist. from the 318. I have a 904 lockup in mine bolts up with no issues.

Used to be a slant, now has a 318 in it. Just got a 8 3/4 rear end I'll be bolting in soon.

Had the exhaust checked out today, the flange from the header to the exhaust is alright.. it appears the header to engine gasket is leaking. I tried the hose trick but couldn't hear it. Once the exhaust was blocked off the leak could be heard. Sorry for the terrible video. The car is sluggish...
