Original Super Stock HEMI Dart LO23

hemicop Correct on the Bryan Higgans S&K Dart. I currently own the Manhattan Speed Parts Hemi Dart and have been trying to trace its history. As far as I know it never left the New York area basically from 1968 till sometime in the late 80s when Tim Hennessey sold it to Roald Anderson. Original...

Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

Stefan You are referring to the torque boxes in front of the front spring mounts right? . These cars were based on the 383 cars suspension & chassis wise. All the LO &BO cars "should of" had those torque boxes from new. liteweight

Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

here's a pic of my car in July of 1968 on the return road during the Super Stock Nationals @ New York National. If you look closely you can see the hood is still in black gel coat while the rest of the car is painted silver. Confirms this is an early car that didn't get a hood when delivered...

Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

here's a pic of a brand new LO23 Dart . Shows that THIS car was all grey primer. I believe they were all delivered this way, then the owners did what they wanted after the fact. Is there a correct or incorrect way of restoring these cars?. Not in my mind anyway. Pick a period the car represents...

Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

My vote would be leave the original trunk lid on the car. This is a photo of my original LO23 Hemi Dart trunk or what I call my wall of fame. There's alot of very cool signatures on there I've collected over the years including Tom Hoover, Ronnie Sox, Buddy Martin, Dick Landy, Tom Coddington...

because of the rear anti roll bar & mini tubs, I had to pie cut the front sections of the gas tank to snake the pipes through. The rear pipes do touch the springs, but only when it's bouncing down the highway in the trailer. My fuel system is basically a 1/2" PU in the original sending unit...

thanx for the good words guys, I appreciate it. I drive this car as much as I can in my local city. It's not really street friendly, but ,is an absolute blast . I had to put 4 mufflers on it so it wouldn't set off every car alarm it went by. Two didn't cut it. Now it'll only set off the...

Inner tubs left Hurst unmodified from what I've learned over the years. Springs were offset to the frame rails. Not many cars that didn't recieve some sort of wheel tub treatment over the years. Mine is mini tubbed only with leaf springs in the rails. liteweight
