I used the spool mounts in my barracuda. All you have to do is remove oil filter..take oil pump bolts out ...spin the pump 1/4turn..then slide it out of the engine.
Brand new rivit gun.. the tool kit...then the plastic pack. It got stuck while installing my convertable top. And it went for a ride...never to return. Lol.
There selling it and it seems like you have to kiss there ... to get them to sell it to you. Or..they just don't respond back. I don't get it... why make a listing if you don't follow through with the sale. Urrgh
I notched my k-member just incase I had to change my oil pump... and I had to.... It is a 20 min. job now. I have a 1968 Barracuda fastback with a 440 sixpack
Too much valve spring pressure will make it run like this. I have done this...not thinking. Urrgh... drove me nuts till I figured it out! Night and day difference.
The sure grip in my area alone is 5-600 being a 741 case and the housing with axels 4-500 . These are getting quite scarce and I recommend just keeping it.
I am running an a833 cast iron overdrive 4 speed transmission in my 68 barracuda fastback. My engine is a 440 sixpack and my rear is a 391 suregrip(489 case). I only have traction problems and large amount of fuel consumption. Lol. I say go for it... I have thoroughly tested this match...
We tried a fan running all the time.. a kerosene heater.. cracking the doors.. leaving a window open...just way too much moisture... it would literally rain from the roof! There was no cheep quick fix for us...
We had the same problem after we built out metal pole building/garage. It would be raining inside from the moisture. We cut foam insulation between the studs( including the roof) problem solved. 25 years later...still holding up great.
I have a 68 fastback with a 440 6pack 4sp and 11 inch clutch. I had to fab mine.. it's not all that hard ..just time consuming. You can use a 10 1/2 in small block cut it down... the challenging part is making the part that it pivots on.
Are you possibly running with too much valve spring pressure. But my first thought would be cam timing. Also... Don't forget to add the zinc additive to your oil with flat tappets.
I have done this before... and it did not seem to help..so I figured just placing a link on his listing would work and it has.... I went back later to see if there was any feedback and the listing was removed.
