The 8534 requires an ignition box which is recommended to use by most EFI manufactures including Edelbrock. So yes MSD 8534 can be used. You can run an RTR with or without a CDI box. The kit also comes with an adapter to run points ignition.

I have not tested. It came with a 69 GTS i just bought, it was in the trunk. I really don't want to mess with it since I don't know much about them. I'm on vacation now but can weight when I get back. Do you know what it is out of originally?
