Why aren't regular snap rings used in place of spirolox retaining rings?

Holley has A-Body Gen 3 Hemi exhaust system on sale for $370+ with X pipe, mufflers& tail pipes. Crossmembers, transmission adapters, '73 and up spool mounts too. Most under $50. Just wanted to pass the info along.

I have a '71 Duster with '73 K frame, suspension, brakes. The passenger side caliper is leaking at the bleeder screw location. I've replaced the bleeder screw and it still leaks. Any ideas before I get new/ reman calipers? Not mine in the pic but similar.
