Early shifter to lever 904 conversion

What's the current situation as far as options to connect a later lever operated 904 to an early cable style floor shifter? The kind with the disc handle sideways, not the kind with button on top of shifter. (pic of early shifter for reference, not actually mine) PO of my 65 Cuda got as far...

Stuck in Park - column shift stuck

Oh wow, Mopar made a documentary to explain it to me! Well, almost. It shows the interlock that requires the shofter to be in Park for the key to be turned. But no interlock preventing shifting out of Park, I'm not sure there was one? Cool training vid though

Stuck in Park - column shift stuck

Wait - is it the ignition switch that releases the shifter out of park, or is it the brake? On later mopars its the brake.

Stuck in Park - column shift stuck

The key turns smoothly and turns, the steering lock disengages smoothly. The key doesn't start the engine because of an unknown electrical fault as reported by the PO that the car would crank but only start in neutral. This has been the case and has functioned that way smoothly up till now...

Stuck in Park - column shift stuck

Sounds like I should remove the key lock cylinder and approach it in there. Looks like pulling hte steering wheel is necessary to pull the ignition lock cylinder, or am I missing something? The back end of the shifter linkage is under the hood by the firewall, and appears to be fine, the...

Stuck in Park - column shift stuck

My 75 Dart with column shift 904 is stuck in Park. Never had a problem, but now the column shifter is really stuck. It feels like the way a steering lock will sometimes be stuck and you have to ease the tension off at the wheel to get it to disengage, but this isn't the wheel, it's the shifter...

    T18/T98 swap?

Sorry no, this isn't an A-body question and I apologize. This would be for a 68 m715 military Jeep that had a 232 swap at some point. I'd like to give it a V8 for working power, LS swaps are of course very popular but I'd rather go with a mopar engine if possible, but vintage mopar Jeep swaps...

    T18/T98 swap?

I’ve been looking but don’t see any options for connecting a MOPAR engine to a T18 or T98 gearbox. Am I missing any? Otherwise seems like it’s a matter of reaming out a MOPAR bellhousing for the 4.684 input bearing cover, drilling mounting holes in the bell, and being ready to chop the input...

    What are these valve covers?

    Great history and info, thanks!

    What are these valve covers?

On a 64 Barracuda. An early 273 version? Or from something else?

    New 1967 Barracuda Owner!

Great car! I have a 67 also. Here's some of the lay of the land as far as suspension and wheels. Your car like all pre-73 mopars has a small 4" 5x4 bolt circle which is a relatively rare size in wheels these days. Original stock options include steel wheels with full covers or dog dishes, as...

How big a clutch for how much power?

oh cool, good to know! Maybe a good way of running a 10.5" flywheel on a 440, with an upgraded aftermarket clutch.

How big a clutch for how much power?

I didnt know about that one! What were they used on?

How big a clutch for how much power?

I'm deciding which flywheel/clutch size to use for a couple of different swaps. Help me understand the working range of each of the mopar flywheel/clutch.bellhousing sizes - Please correct me if I'm wrong in any of the below: 60's-70's Mopar Clutches: ----------------------------- 9 1/4" -...

    What clutch for a 440?

I'm installing a 440 in my 67 Barracuda. Do I need an 11" clutch or is the 10 1/2" adequate for street use? Will be a 440 w/mild street cam, HP manifolds, 3.23 gears. Street use, unlikely it will ever see the strip. Thanks -

Bolts in bulk? Anyone done this? What sizes?

Oh man, you know what happens when I do that? it becomes another car Im trying to save. DAMHIK. The salvage yard idea is good too. Mainly I was asking - if I go buy them, what sizes are most useful?

Bolts in bulk? Anyone done this? What sizes?

After spending the morning with a parts manual and then an hour at the store counting bolts into a bag and then paying a premium price by the each, I begin to wish I just had a big stash of bolts on hand, since I've got several cars I'm going to be assembling from basket cases. Back when I...

New trucks don't sound like old cars - why?

My favorite exhaust sound is the tuned single Commando exhaust! Does not sound like a modern truck.

New trucks don't sound like old cars - why?

It might be the Magnum motor. I'm trying to find clear sound clips fro comparison, but here's an interesting one: a 5.9 Magnum in a Valiant. To me this sounds like a modern truck. Plymouth Valiant 5.9L Magnum V8 Acceleration 0-60 SOUND - YouTube Still trying to find an equivalent clip for an...

New trucks don't sound like old cars - why?

Many of them are running duals, loud exhaust, etc. They're loud, but... ugly. idk, I think im crazy and then i watch a video of a a vintage drag car, or just of a mopar lover idling int he driveway, and - yeah, thats how it should sound.

New trucks don't sound like old cars - why?

Not trying to start a fight, and all respect to you owners of awesome modern mopar trucks. When I hear a modern Ram with a 360 take off at a traffic light, it doesn't have that awesome sound like even a mild 273 or 318 from back in the day. And the same goes for V8s by the other brands. Why...

Western WA climate and building options

I'm making plans to convert some of my parking to covered parking. I'm curious about what peoples' experience has been as far as what level of construction gives the best return. Sure, better is better, but how much better? I have a large fleet, so it's a matter of balancing quality with...

[WANTED] Silver 73-76 Dart/Valiant trunk lid

Looking for a trunk lid for a 75 Dart, I -believe- that a 73-76 Dart or Valiant will interchange Long shot, but I'd love to find an original factory silver panel to match the car so I don't have to match silver repaint. Thanks, Paul
