    Weak in Reverse

Always. I don't know when the last rebuild was. At least 6 years, but it's not driven much. It's not a new problem for me, but one I'd like to resolve.

    Weak in Reverse

Thanks.....Ok, so when I put the car in reverse, it has very little power / torque. I need to gas it pretty good to get it even rolling. If I'm on a slight downgrade and trying to go up it backwards, I basically am stuck. I can do burnouts for days in 1, but R feels like a speed bump could...

    Weak in Reverse

Help me troubleshoot my issue. 74 duster with 727 and TCI 142200 torque converter has very little power in Reverse. All other gears seem to be strong. I'm assuming the torque converter is failing. Before I pull it apart are there any easy checks to confirm ? Or anything else it could be ...

    727 Towed in Park

Hello All, Recently I had to tow my 74 duster with 3 speed 727 trans. When it broke down, It wouldn't roll, started fine, but couldn't get it into D. My assumption was it was stuck in Park. After looking at the shift cable (B&M) it was obvious that the headers had melted away the red...

Oops, still new to this posting process......yes it does have a vent. Was wonding when I should use that. It's a auto meter one, recently replaced from the $5 summit gage. So vent it when it's hot ?

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

So..problem solved for now.....I tried to run a short line in to the pump from a gas can to output tank while priming the bowls. When setting it up, I filled the input line with fuel and noticed it leaking out the pump on the back vent hole suggesting a broken diaphram. Swapped it out with a...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Pulled the pump and saw with a mirror that the eccentric seems to be operating normally. I don't have a regulator or returning line as its mechanical. I do have a vent line which runs to the engine bay but no charcoal canister. It basically just dangles up near the alternator. Ill check it...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Ok, it's been a while but I rebuilt the carb, installed a new fuel pump ( my second new one now ) and with and started her up pretty quickly. Pressure was nice at 6-7psi, and took her out for a quick spin. She drove great so I brought her back into the bay to tune the carb. I started, made...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Thanks. Good idea with the canister at the back. I haven't been running without one as I thought the GM style was good enough. So I'm assuming you need back pressure on the line to get the pressure at the gage without the carb on. Am I just looking for good flow ?

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Well, if it was just a low gage reading and idled well I wouldn't care but I'm assuming the two go hand in hand. Ill.check out the gates though. Thanks

Hello A body freaks, Referring to a 74 Duster, 360, Holley DP 600 M1 intake, mechanical fuel pump. Car started stalling out about a month ago, wouldn't idle consistently, and I noticed low fuel pressure if it did around 2psi. Typically It's running around 6-7. I have a gage on the fuel...

    Leaking Bolt on Water Pump

All, I just swapped out my Power Steering Pump as it was leaking fluid. The swap seemed to go fine, and it's driving well, but I noticed that when I loosened this bolt, to release tension on the belt....coolan fluid runs out. When I removed it completely, it gushed like a hose. And after...

[WANTED] Driver side door hardware needed '74 duster

All, I am looking for the following parts, and have no idea what you would call them. Both are from a 1974 Duster, driver side. First part is the metal piece which stops / aligns the window when rolled up. There are two per door, I need the Driver side, rear. Not sure if they are...

    Need a port for PCV.

Thanks all. I'll run the T to the back of the carb with the Brake booster and PCV. That seems to make the most sense.

    Need a port for PCV.

It's an M1 intake manifold, so no vacuum ports. that's why I guess the previous owner ran the brake booster to the back of the Holley DP where the PCV typically goes in. Can I just tee that thing ? or will that cause my brakes to potentially fail ? Or what about the spacer with a port ...

    Need a port for PCV.

All, Looking for some advice. I bought my 360 duster last year and although the previous owner had a PCV installed in the valve cover driver side, and a breather on the passenger, neither were hooked up to anything. I installed a breather tube to my air filter intake, but when trying to...

    OEM Spraycan ??

All, I'm embarrassed to ask, but here goes....A while ago, I picked up this 74 duster and the previous paint job ignored the door jamb, and posts. They are original brown, and I'd like them to match the exterior. Now, In probably a few years, I'll go for a full re-paint job but right now...

Dash panel bulb and socket PN's ???

Easy question for FABO. Hands on buzzers..... On the back of the 1974 Duster instrument cluster, there are several twist lock style sockets and bulbs. Anyone know of the model number or source for these that work as a replacement ? Thanks. Trevor.
