    Low Friction Upper Ball Joints

this is the top ball joint off my '66 Barracuda. it's a two-piece ball so it has friction when articulating but virtually no friction when twisting as only half of the ball needs to turn with the steering.

    B body spindles

this may explain i'll convert both Imperial and metric from mounting face to ball joint socket. RH B Body 45mm 1.750 inches LH B Body 55mm 2.125 inches '66 A body 70mm 2.750 inches the B Body measurements should be the same but both i have are from different...

Subframe connectors for a driver/cruiser, necessary to weld to floor?

sorting out the floors on my Barracuda with the screen out, the door off and the floor cut out it's visually quite scary how little metal there is holding the car together. I would say one main reason for fitting them is to stop or reduce the cabin folding around the occupants in a head on or...

    65 Gasser?

1964 Barracuda Ebay UK this sort of thing? seems a bit steep on price to me but i have no idea really.

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

Still in the mocking up stage to see whats required, what i need to do and don't need to do. the K frame is now 1/4 inch further forward and slightly lowered, the sump is notched and the rack is in what i'm sure will be its permanent resting place. i know what you're thinking. 'the...

no just a mark. that part of the chassis isn't under much load.

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

cheers Dave, very informative as usual. On the pre'67 A Body the steering is all attached to the K frame so no need to do any chassis modifications (and no cracked chassis') I mocked the steering rack into position and it looks like it'll work with a K frame mod for the brackets. But what...

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

Very true. but i'm sure on the packaging it wont say "also useful to cover up the sh**iest of welds and hide the fact there are no welds in large areas" like the original 'welder' had used it for. the old seam sealer used when the vehicle body was assembled in '66 is flaking off and will need...

and i don't need loads of sealer to hide the welds.

    1966 Valiant Floor Pans

possibly the difference is for different seat types? bucket seats in the Barracuda. this was before i popped the floors back out.

    1966 Valiant Floor Pans

I'm redoing some floor pans on a '66 Barracuda that someone made a right dogs dinner of. i can see where the slight differences are and need addressing to fit properly. where the pliers point the floor is flat as there is the brace for the seat mounting underneath. the right hand seat...

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

have a picture of a car i did the lions share of a restoration 10+ years ago. Ford GT40 Mk III and i was the first person to drive it on public roads in over 30 years. ('tis just a part of what i do for a living)

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

why? i have no idea who performed the repair. and frankly i don't want to know. it wont achieve anything. doesn't stop me ranting about it. and you never know the 'welder' may be embarrassed enough to, if there is a next time, do a much better job. Plus i have no idea of the circumstances...

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

it wont swap over which is why i'm changing it to a steering rack. I did lots of measuring for bump steer etc and found that on a slight lock bump steer increases dramatically because the box and idler arm sit at an angle effectively changing the height of the position of the steering joints...

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

i'm keeping the Gold car with the original A833. i'm also keeping the original Inland shifter and being made of metal means it'll bend to the position i want it. (which i have done already.) iv'e also done quite a few mods on the Auto shifter in the Blue car as it had too much play and...

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

It's a 1967 Honda S800 with a 2005 Honda S2000 engine and gearbox. I'm fabricating an axle from various Ford, Honda and Mazda parts to be able to use the S800's original wheels as well as the Porsche wheels it's sitting on at present and it's mounted with 5 links as original so it could be...

fabrication isn't anything i'm afraid of i'm just annoyed about buying a car that i thought had been repaired properly so i wont need to do too much to have fun with it.

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

iv'e done it before, it's not difficult. There's probably less than 10 '66 Barracuda's in the UK? no one would buy it and it'll cost too much to ship abroad to be worth while.

    Really!!!! sub standard repair.

plan was to just tidy bits and pieces and use till the other was done. but as i'm now having to put loads of time, money and effort into it to not make it any more valuable iv'e decided after a bit of deliberation it's going to be a keeper so it'll get converted to RHD. so the shiny dash i...

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

    Trunk lid hinge question

Funnily enough i repaired my hinges today. someone has had an attempt at a repair, i assume years ago, and used what looks like a nail as the pin. correct size silver steel rod and drilled the hinge for a grub screw. easy.

    '66 Valiant Console Shifter Linkage
