Bad gas for sure unless you used stabil. Probably going to need to flush the tank and rebuild the carb. Change oils,check brake lines fluid. There are lists out there for bringing vehicles out of long term storage. Lots of stuff degrades . It's hard on parts being stored wrong.

I'm also doing this swap and I thought I had it all ready to go until I read this thread. It got me searching as I heard all that was needed was a b&m flex plate 10239. From what I've read from others who have done the swap keeping the 318 converter is to use the b&m flexplate and use a pilot...

Does anyone know if this b&m flexplate 10239 works with a 1968 a 904? It only lists 1971-1992 so I'm concearned that there might be something different. Anyone know what that might be or has actually used the flexplate on a pre 71 transmission.

Thanks guys , I've always used later model engines at least 67 on for no other reason than that's what was available at the time. Those times are gone.now and I don't want to get something that will take one off parts or lots of special work to swap over .I've done a lot of b/rb engine b body...

Well I'm defiantly going to talk with the guy tomorrow then because I think I can get it quite a bit cheaper seeing as he will still have the body . Is the 66 a good year rear end? I know it's the first year 440 and has a forged crank but 516 heads .

There is a 1966 imperial at the metal scrap yard about a half mile from my house. I was thinking of making an offer on the drivetrain and building it gradually over the winter since it's got a 440/727/8 3/4 . It ran recently but not now and I'm sure the guy got it to scrap so he doesn't have but...

I was wondering the same thing . The guy has a set if 10" drums and an almost complete set of front discs on ebay. Looks like I have to go parts hunting. The good news is I found a mopar only wrecking yard near Portland or. Only 7 hrs away!

Wow guys thanks for all the feedback and inspiration! I've been working on it lately and trying to sort out what I've got to do to get it to move under its own power. The front brakes were either swiped or swapped out as they are barely hanging on. Looks to be maybe 9"drums and 13" front wheels...
