Got the 833 back in and street tested her yesterday. Once everything was feeling good, went a little harder on her and she did great. Came back and no leaks! Mission accomplished. Tore down the Hurst shifter, cleaned, and relubed her while I was at it. Amazing how a $6 seal can cause so much...

Copy all. The passon manual definitely talks about this as well and they say to rtv each bolt that holds the bearing retainer in as well. pretty impressed with this manual. It's easy to follow and lots of pics for guys like me.

So that was harder to get out than originally thought. Not easy w H pipe exhaust. Had to drop that and even then didn’t have much wiggle room. My homemade trans jack adapter worked nicely though. Anyway, sure enough, of course it will leak when whoever put it in didn’t put a bearing retainer...

I've got H pipe exhaust. Seems to be pretty close to the output end. Has anyone had to take out the exhaust to pull the tranny?

I did check the tranny level and it is low. Had it full before I went for a spin. Guess I’ll order the seals from brewers and research how to do this. May be a “how to” on here?

I did not put this engine and 4 speed a833 in and I have not rebuilt a tranny before. I took my 69 dart out today and came back with a pretty good leak coming from the bell housing cover. I took it off and it looks to be coming from maybe the input bearing retainer in the transmission...

Sounds good. I'll do some more research. I can seem to find the felts all over, but the chrome is the elusive beast!

JS, I would call Willie and see if he has any laying around or knows a source. He mainly refurbs them, but may have some laying around. If you do find some that need attention, I'd give him a call. I sent him mine for my 69 dart and he did a stellar job with them.

Guys, I can’t seem to find the quarter window chrome piece of trim/molding on the passenger side for my 69 dart swinger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you know your sender part number or just look up an equivalent one up on the interweb, it usually says the ohm range. That’s how I found mine out. Should be able to bench test that w a multimeter from full to empty and adjust some bendable tabs if need be to get it within spec. You can...

I was trouble shooting my voltage regulator to my cluster and accidentally touched the 12V to ground w it hot. Same thing happened. Thanks for the advice. I’ll be soldering in a jumper as well.

The water pump pulley is smaller than the crank pulley. I don't kick the fan on until it hits 180. Doesn't go above 190 usually.

Got it running cool now fellas. Thanks for the ideas. Went w a derale single electric fan and shroud combo. Put some low profile bolts on for the water pump pulley. I have 3/4" to spare. Also went w the derale single fan controller. Don't recommend this though. The temperature sensor in the...
