Valve cover clearance with Hughes roller rockers

I did a little bit of searching with no avail. I currently installed a set of Hughes roller rockers on my 392 build. Went to set my cheap stamped steel valve covers on just to cover up things while it is in storage, and found out that they do not fit over the rockers. Does anyone know what...

    Heater, radio removal ?

I'm trying to remove the radio, heater controls and the trim that surround them. Since the trim is 40 something years old I'm sure it is quite brittle. So I do not want to be prying on it too much so I do not break it. So my question is, how is all of this held in place on the dash? I need...

Is there a book online that has the parts diagram layout of the 70 thru 72 body style with oem part numbers? Such as a published micro phish that the dealers would of used to order parts from.

    Another front end conversion

As a matter of fact my car was built in October of 72, it would have been one of the first few in production of the 73 nose . So the bumper mount shouldn't be of an issue.

    Another front end conversion

I have a 73 dart swinger and would like to convert to a 71 or 72 nose. Aside from the hood, fenders, grill, head lights, what else is required from the 71/ 72 years, what else am I going to need? Are the hood latches the same? Some tell me I may need doors from a 70 thru 72 to make work, but to...

    512 pump gas build question.

I forgot to add this is a 400 B block build. So a 7.1 rod is out of the equation.
  19. 07raptorgytr

    512 pump gas build question.

I'm building a 512 pump gas friendly motor for the dart. Trick flow aluminum heads 78cc , single plane intake etc, etc. Cam looks to spec out at .620 intake and .627 exhaust lift with 1.6 rockers. 292 297 advertise duration 254 260 @.050. The cam specs call for a motor at 10.5:1 comp ratio...

    400 casting numbers

Yeah you have it flipped its 4006530, but any ways I was just trying to figure out why you could potentially have 2 different casting numbers from year 76 to 78. I figured it was a difference of where it was cast or one was for passenger car and the other was motorhome.

    400 casting numbers

Thanks guys. I pretry much had my answers, I'm about to go look at this block and wanted a little more insight before I brought it home and not be what iam looking for.

    400 casting numbers

I'm looking at a 400 block to possibly put in my 73 dart. Wanted some help with the casting numbers. 3698630 400 2. Cast in 1973. Sources say this was cast from 73 to 78 and there is a different cast number 4006530 that is for 76 to 78. Why would mopar have 2 different cast numbers for 76 thru...

Small block to big block convert questions..

Well if any of you have been following my post on the small block side of this forum, you would see that I was looking into doing a 436 stroker capable of 600 hp, but I do not want r3 block simply because I'm not going to drop 2k or more for a bare block. I'm a bit skeptical of the production...

Small block to big block convert questions..

I've been bouncing around building a monster small block for my streeter. But I'm having questions on the reliability of that build , so I'm kinda kicking around the idea of building a big block for the 73 dart. Question is what are some of the big issues in making a big block fit in the small...

If you blast ,use coal slag. They sell it at TSC. It is very abrasive and will cut thru the powder coat easily, plus it is cheap.

    340 hp capabilities?

Exactly. Last year I put 800 miles on the car, thus year Iam at 300 and the year us coming to an end for drivable weather. So with that said it isn't like there is gonna be a ton of road miles put on this thing. It is a Saturday afternoon cruiser that likes to party from time to time. The block...

    340 hp capabilities?

What I ment by that statement was the fact that 95% of the time this motor won't be thrashed on, but I want the power to be available if need be. As for the drag racing part, it was just a simple statement that I may run a few passes on a Friday night. I just wanted to make it clear this isn't...
