I went through close to the same thing. The 1st thing that I did and I would advise you to do would be to find a machine shop that has a lot of experience in working with Mopar engines. 2nd I would ask the shop to give you some phone #s or at least have them take your # and ask for some other...

The Green stuff from 3M is by far the best stuff to use. The red stuff is much harder to use and does not work as good by a long shot. You can sand it wet or dry but my choice has always been wet. I have doing body work for over 30 yrs. professionally, so I think this will help you. 1973...
