really cheap trick I use - I leave the petcock at the bottom of the tank juuuust cracked opened enough to hear it hissing, and I do the same with one on the separator.. this allows water to drip out instead of following the air line to your tools. Older Ingersoll-Rand upright - as in circa 1990...

no - it could be at exhaust stroke instead of intake. The piston comes up twice during a cycle. As stated above you need to verify valve positions. read this Distributor drive gear position at TDC post 11 may be helpful - it could simply be that your distributor is 180 degrees off - not the cap...

Love the car, love the build, but I gotta say that the bumperless look isn't it for me.. it just looks unfinished. I get it, less weight at the very least, but that's what they make fiberglass for. I just think you need to get a 'glass one and maybe adjust it to fit better than the originals do...

PayPal is a tool and like any tool, you need to learn when and how to use it.

They are called Q or torsion clips, I have never seen a reference to any being "heavy duty". You can buy sets of 2, maybe you can do a comparo for us... you already know of at least one brand to avoid.

Always go with proper torque spec (you already knew that) and, this may just be me, I use a small dab of anti-seize on the plug thread before I install them.

There are lots of great options out there, it depends on the look you are going for. I recently changed mine because the ones that were on the car were really showing their age - I went with these Black Hairpin Hood Pin Kit

Off the top of my head I don't recall what plugs I went with but, to get them out all you should need to do is get a socket on there (I use a 3/8" drive deep well with a short extension ..and yeah, it's a SOB to get the exact right configuration to reach - and it's probably different for both!)...
