    71 Dart Vinyl Top Delete

Re-doing a 71 Dart and considering eliminating the vinyl top. Will all of the existing vinyl top window trim and drip railing work or were there differences? Regards, Steve

SBM starter tooth count on Tuff Stuff mini 6084B

So, My new Tuff Stuff mini starter # 6084B only has a 9 tooth gear, my original Mopar starter has a 10 tooth gear. Did Tuff Stuff mis-package something? Obviously the tooth engagement is all wrong and it howls like a wounded dog when cranking. Anybody else run into this? Regards, Steve

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

So, I did end up shortening the WP by about .800". I can now use a stock Ford fan without cutting the crap out of it. A long way around, but it's a nice clean professional look IMO. Hope this helps someone else in the future. Regards, Steve

    Custom pie tins?

Anybody out there making custom air cleaner pie tins yet? I'm looking to have one made that sez 431 in place of 340, LAx (see the LSx font below) in place of the word FOUR, and EFI in place of the word BARREL.

Reroute headlight wires to fender well

Thanks 64, a nice and clean look for sure. I love it. I'm in the same boat. Bulkhead connector now has a 90 degree firewall boot for the ECM wire bundle. So, I get the front entry into the frame rail, but still unclear where you exited the frame rail into the cabin. Regards, Steve

Reroute headlight wires to fender well

Great idea! Where did you exit the frame rail on each end?

Reroute headlight wires to fender well

Looking to hide my front wiring harness by moving it up into the corner of the fender well and run it in the small space behind the shock support. Thinking I should fab up a sheet metal cover for it all. I'm looking for ideas. Anybody else do this? Got any photos? Regards, Steve

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

So, Im not happy with the look of the trimmed fan. Just doesn't look very professional to me for a fairly high quality build. At the end of the day the best plan will be to shorten the WP by 3/4" This has already been done by another board member so it's all figured out. I'm drop shipping a new...

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

Well, I did a bunch of judicious trimming on the fan and straightened the radiator support some. I was able to knock about 1/4" off of the area in front of the pulley. It now fits and I have about 1/8" clearance to the pulley. I'm going to try to take another 1/8" off to increase that clearance...

Might create some suspension interference issues. I'll need to check that

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

Believe it or not I'm actually thinking my path of least resistance and the cleaner look will be to move the motor and trans back 1/2". I don't have a dizzy anymore, it's just a small cam position sensor. Need to check header fit, and need to modify column shifter mount as well as the trans...

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

FYI Cold Case MOP750A 26" radiator measures 3.16" from rad support mounting flange to the fins/tubes on the pulley side. Contour fan measures 1.69 from rad side to plastic grid between the 2 fans. So, the stack up is 4.85". Hope that helps some else in the future. Edited 10.18 AM

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

So, I purchased a 26" Cold Case MOP750A and a Ford Contour fan. Adapting the fan to the CC radiator will be pretty simple, but the stack up will put the fan into the water pump pully. Looks like I'm going to need to find about 1/2" somewhere to end up with 1/4" clearance. Probably will be a...

Ford Fans on Cold Case 26"

Nice job. Looks like you put the 26 in a stock 22 opening without cutting the rad support.

    Eastwood Diamond Clear

About 10 years ago Eastwood sold a Diamond Clear product in a little yellow 8 oz can. This stuff was amazing when brushed on bead blasted aluminum parts. It was very thin and had a distinct odor when applying, and dried without runs. But, it didn't change the color, or texture of bead blasted...

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

Agree on EFI. I’ve been doing it for years. Started out burning EPROMs and erasing the with UV light tray. This was Tuned Port days. Did a 730 ECM on a BBC in a 67 SS and It worked beautifully. Then I was hooked. Have also done Eddy, Holly,LT1,LS, etc. No MS as of yet.

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

Well, I was given the 411ECM, Injectors, and Coils as a freebie. Plus I have a reasonable amount of tuning experience with HP tuners on LS1's (credits for GM are $100). So with a junk yard wiring harness for $95, I'm in business. All of the other spending (Intake, Throttle Body, Connector...

    Temperature Sender

I'm trying to find a temperature sender for a SBM 71 Dart BUTTT, I'm looking for 3/8 NPT instead of the stock 1/8 NPT. This is to go in my SBM Eddy Super Victor intake. For some unknown reason Eddy put 3/8" NPTs and no 1/8" NPTs. Trying to avoid a reducer bushing if possible but sometimes you...

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

Voltage at the sensor input on the 411 ECU is zero with the ECU powered up. I'm thinking the 411 is going to be expecting a 12V square wave input signal for the cam sensor. There are some posts on a few websites that kinda support that thought but no one has come right out and confirmed it at...

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

Yep - I found lots of unused 5V pins on the PCM. I am concerned more about the signal amplitude that would be returned back. I have not really determined what the 411 is expecting.

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

I’m not installing the knock sensors. I’ll turn off the faults. I figured the sensors wouldn’t be calibrated for my blocks knock signature. Plus, I’m running a solid roller cam which could generate false knock retard. I’ll tune it safe and it’ll be fine. It’s an NA motor so a ping every now and...

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

On my valve covers - First I moved the oil fill opening to the center of the cover and welded shut the hole created when I cut it out. Then, I made 8 mounting bars and drilled and tapped them at a spacing that matched the coils and welded them to the valve cover. Also then made 16 standoff tubes...

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

So, I did fire up the 411 PCM and got my HP tuners reporting data. I have good feedback from TPS, IAT, MAP, CLT sensors. Can't really tell about CKP (crank). I bugged wires on the CMP (cam position to try to see if I was getting anything back. Took a bit of research to get the Jeep pin outs of...
