    clutch rod

What I'm looking for is the clutch rod that runs from the clutch pedal to the top of the zbar. I think they are specific lengths for each body style. I didn't know the clips where still available at stores, thanks for the info.

    A body louvers

Time has really flown over the past couple of months, and I have neglected to keep everyone up to date on the louvers. My apologies to all. I have struggled with several areas on this project, and am still pecking away at it. I find it easy to build proto-types, but ironing out the details...

    Frustrated

To me, it sounds like you have a car that hooks hard, which is what most people want. Thats what your suspension modifications are intended to do, and it seems you built it well for that purpose. If you want to burn rubber (one of my favorite past times:-D), you will probably want to change...

From what you have said, I would guess that the car pulls good at higher speeds, right?

    Frustrated

318s don't have a lot of torque, and torque is what you need to bust the tires loose. With a stock stroke 318, an automatic trans, a sure grip, ss springs, and a pinion snubber, that 318 is gonna struggle to do what you want it too. You may simply be hooking up more than you expected to. When...

    Toyota Comericals

Some say drivers should be able to stop those cars. If you have ever been behind the wheel of a runaway car, you know that its easier said than done. The first time it happened to me was in a 79 or 80 Firebird Formula. When I stomped on the gas, a plug wire got caught in the secondary linkage...

Any spring plans for you Mopar?

I have some nice wide BFGs for the back, just need to buy two wheels to put them on. Then maybe switch over to an overdrive 4speed instead of the one I have. It's fun in town, but highway driving is like punishment with the 391 gear. Also, hoping to hook up with the Hot Rod Power Tour this...

    Dart ID help

Apparently, the current owner did some internet research, and has decided that this car has value. He has stated that the car is now not for sale. I really have no idea if this car is special or not, I've not gotten a look at it yet. Hopefully, he will change his mind, but until...

    Dart ID help

I appreciate all the info. Trying to set up a time to go see it, but the guy is out of town a lot. If it turns out to be something cool, we'll post some pics later. Thanks again for the info, Rob

    Dart ID help

I don't know. All I have is 3rd hand information that goes something like this: "It has bad paint, but the body is solid. It only has 50,000 miles on it and is a factory race car. Don't know if it's a big block or small block, but it has dual quads on it. Also, has bench seat with auto on...

    Dart ID help

Going to be looking at a Dart. There is an outside chance that it may be a factory hemi Dart, or maybe a factory big block Dart. (I know, it's probably a slant six car, but you never know til you look.) I don't know what to look for on the car to see if it is any of the above. Can someone give...

The 2.5" from Summit is a pretty good system for the price. I would use it again. Just fab your own head pipes, and your in business.:toothy10:

    A body louvers

Spent some time on the louvers today. I have a checklist of things to be done on them, and was able to check a couple items off today. Slow but sure, progress is being made. Rob

    retractable seatbelts

After repeated soakings with silicone spray, both sides are now workable. You still have to mess around with them a few times to get them to go, but at least now it's possible. I will eventually get new ones, but for now they will have to do.

what bell and headers are you running?

I've got a 440 in my 74 Duster with a 11" bell from a 69 Roadrunner, and Schumacher headers. I had to move the zbar back because of where the headers dump. All clutch linkages (including the zbar) had to be customized in order to work with this setup. It's ok now that its done, but it was a...

    Too cold to work

You're right, Memike, the wife is very happy with it. Thank you for the comments, and yes I've done this before. It's been a long time though, so I was glad it came out as nice as it did. I'm getting cabin fever so bad I can't stand it. It's supposed to get up to 20* today, maybe I'll take the...

    Too cold to work

Thanks for the comment. :-D The pipe cuts all have a slit going from the outside edge to the hole. Make that slit with a utility blade, then if you are careful (and lucky) you can open it up just enough to get it around the pipe.

    Too cold to work

Too cold to work today (construction). And too cold to work in the garage (my space heater will take the edge off if its not too bad, but single digit temps are too much for it). Sooooooo, the new bathroom floor got put in. I hate working on bathrooms because they are always a PITA...

    Blower prep carbs

I know there are companies that will prep your carbs for forced induction. What I don't know is what do they do to them? Can I modify a pair at home, or is there something magic that has to be done at a shop? The setup would be two carbs on an 8v71 on a 8.5 cr 440. Any advice would be appreciated.

    A body louvers

Thanks for the well wishes, Leanna. Christmas was as good as could be, under the circumstances. It is difficult to get used to the idea that Dad is no longer there. On the other hand, he didn't teach me to lay around and feel sorry for myself either. There is work to be done, and doing it...
