    just an opinion. The secondary air doors are opening too quickly need to slow them down, keep tightening until stumble goes away . You could keep throwing larger squirters at it when the originals were probably ok.The original jets were probably close . The plugs look and probably are too cold...

    Modern lobes are sometimes better sometimes not but the power difference aint no eye opener.I also said roughly same lift . Remember these lobes are rated at different opening points so sometimes smoke and mirrors. Remember racer browns lobes were designed in the 60s and 70s

    I say keep your cam ,use your magnum heads change the converter and gears and work it from there . The rpm range is kinda extended with the 323s and you have to make the most power/torque there .     To me what your explaining is a engine with a bigger than needed duration and a wider lobe separation to kill off some of the bottom end and make it up up top.Thats why i previously suggested tightening up lash to do this.It doesnt hurt anything plus its free!

    Isnt the trick to use lower pressure with enough flow. If at 5 or 6 lbs there is enough flow use it .At 7or more lbs isnt it aerating the fuel in the bowl more??

    Maybe just maybe its not the carbs maybe the converter is too tight for the cam and nothing you do is gonna help other than changing the converter or the cam. I have seen this before and while carb tuning is good and interesting its hard to fix a problem that isnt there.
