    No oil to top end

I've always just used one of those bent distributor wrenches to hook it under the quill shaft gear and a BA screwdriver to walk the gear teeth out of engagement. You don't need to pull the intake.

    A855 - 5 Speed

Geezuz, what do you have to go thru to post anything. Total PITA. I wanted to let you know they used to make speedo adapters which would probably fit your situation. Somewhere I have one made out of aluminum and another out of bakelite. They are kind of a z-shape with a threaded female collar on...

    I made a mistake once, too: I thought I'd made a mistake.

My new to me 1 Ton Dually

Are we looking at the same pic? That looks like typical ball joint front driving axle to me. It looks a little smaller than a 60, too, but I haven't crawled under my 76 for 20yrs.

My new to me 1 Ton Dually

I've had my 01 v10 ram3500 4x4 dually with a service box for about 10 or so years. 10mpg. I only use it for hauling serious loads.

    8 3/4 posi unit change

If you don't have the adjuster, on the right axle shaft, shown in the pic, then I question whether you really have an 8-3/4" axle housing. Furthermore, if you haven't even looked/read some FSM's about setting up axles, perhaps you should postpone this endeavor until you've done some more...

    oil filter size

If you're worried about flow in the WIX, then take your favorite size filter number and add the "XP" suffix to it. It has synthetic filter media and is intended for extended oil change intervals, in other words, it plugs up slower.

    crypto currency investing, anyone?

For those into precious metals, I remember, years ago, that the Hunt(?) bros. tried to cut a fat hog and corner the market on silver. I think this was around the time that silver was critical to processing photographic film. At any rate, they drove the market up artificially by buying it all up...

    crypto currency investing, anyone?

I put all my money in "rolling stock." It works OK, as long as I keep the tires aired up.

Adjustable Rockerarms that Fit Under Factory Valve Covers?

No much of a BB guy. But I know mopar made some cast rockers for some apps. My friend had them on his 413 '62 300. But I can't say they came stock on that particular app. Maybe on the early HP 383's, or RB Stage cars, or some long ram 300 letter cars. I think Isky made some, too.

    coming up long (shift rods)

After you find the proper plate and mount the shifter on it. I've found with my early a-body shifters, the 1/4" drill shank in the shifter levers trick doesn't work with the reverse lever. Maybe I've done something wrong, but I always adjusted the forward gear selection levers with the pin...

    Oil Pan Plug Issue

Thanks for the follow-up. Most of the time, we never hear the end of the story. I'll be ecstatic if it ends up working for you. One of my wild a$$ ideas finally worked?! Hahaha.

    Engine Bay Paint Suggestions

My son had a "murdered-out" Suzuki. It didn't take long before he was tired of that and repainted it. Whenever I'm considering car paint colors, that's one of my first questions to myself: 'Am I going to get tired of looking at this color in a couple of years?'

    Oil Pan Plug Issue

I've seen those work for temporary plugs where you have a leaking soft plug. They can be VERY convenient if the soft plug is in a location which is really hard to replace properly without removing an exhaust manifold, or intake & head, etc They're not ideal, but sometimes they can be a life saver.

    273 Four Barrel Emblem Placement

This is how I remember it, too: https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/do-the-math-1967-dodge-dart-gt-383 In previous article they show picture of GT emblem w/383-4bbl below it. The 383 was a late model-year offering on 67 Darts. So it would not surprise me if the FIRST 383 Darts had NO 'GTS'...

Beat A Dead Horse Demon Suspension Recommendations

I've been following some guy on YouTube with a red 70 Cuda 383 with hockey stripes, who changed over to some Hotchkis stuff, and I was appalled at the steering links. They were these cheezy links instead of the oem taper stud ball joints. He ended up not using the H/K uca's because they...

    273 Four Barrel Emblem Placement

Agree to disagree. I don't know how old you were then, but I was there, then, and had just gotten my driver's license. I distinctly remember the badges in front of the doors. And it has nothing to do with GTS emblems. I bought a new 68 GTS in 68, so I was very aware of these things. I agree...

    273 Four Barrel Emblem Placement

To me, this makes sense if it's a GT vs non-GT thing. Because the GT badge would be just above the 273 4bbl badge in front of the doors. I've seen pictures of the emblems in both locations. Maybe it was a mid-year change. Or maybe they were manufactured in two different locations. The v8...

    273 Four Barrel Emblem Placement

I Google it, too. I actually saw it both ways. I think it depends on your emblems. If you have the emblems made to fit on top of the character line/crease of the sheetmetal. It probably goes up front. But if you have the 'flat' emblems they probably go lower on the fenders in front of the doors...

    Oil Pan Plug Issue

I wonder if you could heat the begeezuz out of the pan threaded piece and let it cool as slowly as possible to anneal the steel. Then thread it with the tap.

    66 /6

For some reason every sl/6 I've tried to resurrect after sitting for a few yrs had valves stuck in the guides. You might try soaking the valve stems with penetrating oil and rapping them with a dead blow (soft-face)hammer to make sure they're free.

I thought they were in front of the doors on the front fenders.

    SMALL BLOCK VALVE COVER ID

I don't know about other models, but IIRC, 340-6 had some kind of wire loom holder for the inside (intake side)face of the RT v. cover.

3.09 4 Speed Gear Set Strength

Story time. I used to have 67 GMC w/250 I6. I swapped in a Saginaw 4spd from an El Camino. I put a Hurst floor shifter on it, and it was a pretty sweet shifting trans. Man, did I abuse that thing. I could get rubber in the first 3 spds. After about 5 or 6 yrs, I used it to try & pull about 15...

3.09 4 Speed Gear Set Strength

I did that for my 64 Dart w/a modded 70 340. I dropped the clutch at 5-6k rpms for about 50 runs at the 1/4 mile dragstrip. Best run was 13.09 @104mph. 3400# car, never had a problem with the trans anyway.

    Engine Bay Paint Suggestions

I'd paint the engine compartment the same color the car was originally. Do a good job, because it's the kind of job you only want to do once. At some point you or a future owner will get tired of the satin black. If the engine compartment is already done in original color it can be a selling...

    Engine Bay Paint Suggestions

Sorry, I don't think much of satin black engine compartments. That's kind of a point of pride in my mopar fandom. Satin black looks tacky in an engine bay. It's more of a GM & Furd thing. But that's just me. You do you.
