    A+E = Slap Stick Shifter for A-Body

All 'hind-sight' today but just another corporate decision leaving us to wonder why A-bodies were 'alienated' (from B's then later, E-bodies) - ie: SBP wheels, 9" brakes. (sigh) :soapbox:

    ABS headliner 72 swinger

Yes, LOL, but some shops such as on Graveyard Carz actually do engine/tranny swaps from underneath. But hood, of course, is off. :D

    1974 Bucket Seat Question

Did 'C'-bodies even have bucket seats? - if so, wouldn't be that style. Looks like the ribbed inserts are fabric and, wider than factory - so likely some custom tinkering. I'd still agree orig. from '70 - '72.

    ABS headliner 72 swinger

Me? I would easily choose the cloth headliner over the task of installing vinyl roof. I didn't think the roof rail metal trim had to come off - only the inside trim (to expose the rod clips and pointy 'hooks'). My 'gutted' Swinger covered up for (yet another) winter and too lazy to check it...

can/has it been done?? home made headliner...

I'm not positive but it sure seems like the front section (pic 2) looks fairly snug but, second portion has some looser parts. If so, this would have been incorporated during the stitching together. Some further 'left-right' tensioning should take care of it.

can/has it been done?? home made headliner...

Which would you guys suggest is more difficult to install - the solid or the cloth style? and, is it beyond the capability of 'enthusiast' to do his or her own? In other words, if j par can do it - - how about the rest of us? :(

Anyone know if these are mopar seats?

My first notice was that they do not fold forward - so would not be from any 2-door car, and of course there were no 4-door 340 or larger Darts etc. :)

    Manual brake push rod

318 car? Stock (8.25") rear? Haven't you considered upgrading to later A-body (BBP) discs with larger axles in rear?

    Manual brake push rod

So do you have drums or discs in front? Still SBP or already converted to BBP? I only ask 'cause I'm still getting by with well-functioning 9" drums - but pondering a power booster (which I already have), but only 4 more days of driving until next spring. So, maybe just select Edit then...

    Manual brake push rod

I would ask why you are choosing to convert from power to manual? Isn't it usually the other way around? Front discs and or 10" drums? P.S. You cannot miss the Delete option. It should be available at the bottom-left of each of your entries.

    71 Valiant source for upholstery?

Same thing for me. I posted somewhere maybe couple months back and best reply was to get custom made covers. Supposedly a place in Oregon could have my cloth material. My '69 also blue, but cloth and vinyl. If it was all vinyl there would be no damage (just dash pad and carpet). Today I...

    Bucket Seat Track

Hopefully nobody sells (you or me) damaged goods. Most a person should have to do is to work in plenty of lithium type grease into the sliding mechanism, inspect and lube cables and coil springs and of course the threaded studs that attach thru the floor. Clamp stationary part of each bracket...

Are These Radio Washers of Some Kind?

Uh huh. So I am 'off-base'. I am now curious as to what my identical (but threaded) 'nuts' are indeed for. :(

Headliner falling down 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet

Usually it's the stitching that gives out. Job to replace not rocket-science but lots of trim to remove - the nastiest ones being over the door openings (drip rail area). I will eventually be doing the one for my Swinger but the Signet still good. (sigh)

Are These Radio Washers of Some Kind?

Are they not threaded inside? If so, then they look like the nuts that tighten the switch and tuner onto the radio housing shell. On the other hand, I could be 99.9% 'off-base'.

Stitching a leather cover on a 69 rallye steering wheel.

Have used several upscale body fillers over the years with good success. Then epoxy primer and urethane enamel - for OEM resto. When I did the '68 Power Wagon 5 years ago, I used the plastic welding process. Kit comes with tool/element that gets very hot and connects to air supply. Plus, a...

    [WANTED] Small Bolt Drums

Yes, it does look like R.A. has listings for factory SBP specs. (Centric or Dynamic - 10" rear). Maybe out of stock? Also Partsgeek has listing and cheaper than R.A.

How to clean / polish instruments cluster lens?

I've had negative results with alky type cleaners as well - some tend to 'dry' the plastic and leave/produce a white residue. Post no.13 mentioned using a clear urethane. I've successfully used clears from Krylon or Duplicolor to coat well-used taillight or parking lenses - with excellent...

Front drum to disk brakes conversion.

I removed the calipers from my (one-owner) '70 Swinger about 4 years ago. Pistons were stuck so bad nothing would take them out. Two years later, my plans included upgrading to the larger bolt pattern using all parts from '73 Duster (340). Sold the calipers to friend in Alberta for his...

    Caliper bolt anti-rattle clip

You do NOT need the 'positioner/clips'. Save yourself $80. Go to Rockauto.com and type in '72 Challenger. Go to the brakes section and click on Disc Brake Hardware Kit. The Centric No.11763002 will give you 8 rubber seals and 2 retaining springs - for less than $12. The 'long' pins are...

    Caliper bolt anti-rattle clip

I think I had a thread on FEBO a couple months ago - trying to locate the (B/E-body) caliper pins. Couldn't find anything listed - even Rockauto. Anyway, I confirmed my suspicions that there were two different styles of pins - at least for Challengers and Barracudas. Seems that the...
