Quick Fuel Slayer Rich!!!! installed LC-1 wide band

Ok thanks, the reason I asked was because I've ordered exactly the same carb and as I only have tuned a couple of Edelbrocks before I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Holley/Quick Fuel tuning and what issues I can get into. I agree, the ignition must be set correctly before start tuning...

383 intake manifold change AFR big time

I run with Spectre Cold Air intake Spectre Performance Musclecar Cold Air Intakes 733 thats why I dont do the jettings when it's too cold and the height is no problem. Today it's about 35F here... The way I use to tune a carb is that I'm finding an cruising (eco) area that works, then finding...

383 intake manifold change AFR big time

Well, to make a long story short... This winter I change from Mopar M1 dual plane intake mainifold to the manifold that all recommended for my mild 383 .030 over, decked block, Lunati 256/262 @050 213/220, Speed Pro flat top pistons @about 0.0 in the hole, 915 heads, 650 AVS2 and Mopar HP...

    rear main leak

I've read that too but I'm not really getting how to seal the sides on the retainer with Right Stuff, does it mean that you use RS in the slot where the side seals should be or do you seal it on the inside or outside of the retainer? My plan is to change seals with engine in the car just...

Can you use stock rockers with aftermarket aluminum heads?

No you can't use OEM stamped rockers on your aluminium heads, it would ruin your reputation if anyone finds out! But if you do use them, never EVER tell anyone. Otherwise it's OK as long as you don't use a camshaft lift or spring load that's out of range of the OEM stamped rockers. The rockers...

    Rebuild 383 bottom end...

Well, measured the 915 heads to a tiny little less than 8cl which should be about 80 CC, zero decked block and MrGasket 040 head gaskets. Eddie 600cfm carb, dual plane Mopar M1 alu intake, HP manifolds with dual 2.5" exhaust. What HP do you think I can expect with the CR and cam shaft above?

    Rebuild 383 bottom end...

My old 383 -66 bottom end is worn out and I’ve got my hands on an rebuild .030 bottom end with new bearings and Sealed Power/Speed Pro L2315NF30 forged piston. I’m planning to move all the stuff from the worn out bottom end to the rebuild bottom end. The camshaft I’m using is a mild Lunati...

Brand new Auburn Limited Slip, something missing?

Yes, and a lots of pictures show the same preload springs and retainer. I finally got an answer from Auburn and they confirm that I should buy the Service Kit 541022, but they also state that all LSD from them is tested for torque bias, well this (and perhaps others) actually didn't. In the end...

Brand new Auburn Limited Slip, something missing?

What do you mean? Without the preload springs and retainer the Auburn is an open diff, so I think it will help with a set of springs and retainer.

    727 clutch clearance

My -66 Service Manual says .024 to .123 clearance in front clutch and .037 to 0.060 in rear clutch, should I go for the low side of these? With new clutch plates I got .080 clearence in front clutch and 0.038 in rear clutch, is it OK? The Service Manual also says 10 springs in front clutch but...

    727 issue

I use the factory thin head bolts and the bolts didn't hit the shield if I rotate the converter but when the engine was running I guess the shield began to vibrate and hit the bolts, that's my only theory.

    727 issue

Removed the starter dust shield and found scratch marks at the end of the shield, put it all together without the shield and the noise is gone. I don't like to drive around without the shield so I have to fix that but It's far more easier than changing the converter. Thanks all!!
