What transfer pump have you had luck with?

I am going to be replacing the fluid in my 8 3/4 soon and I was wondering what transfer pump works best on a budget to remove the fluid? Basically a hand pump style nothing too fancy:)

    FED EX.......WTF

I cringe when I see something I bought is being shipped by FedEx. One item they lost, then they lost two separate shipments of my checks. I got through to a FedEx manager on the phone. He tells me they have been having problems with small packages. For a company who's only business is to ship...

    1971 Thermoquad dates

I am curious on the build dates on the 1971 4972 and 4973 Thermoquads. Specifically what would be the approximate latest build date on these. I have been looking for some time and I haven't seen one built after March of 1971. Does anyone have any of a later date? I have a 1972 Thermoquad with a...

"You Mopar guys" The Mark Worman effect?

There is something about Mopars. Every time I am at a cars and coffee type event people address me as being a Mopar guy I guess because I have a Duster. They don't know that I have owned a 360 powered AMC Gremlin, two V8 Vegas, a 1972 Chevelle, a 1975 Firebird, a 1956 hot rod Chevy, a 1969 Mach...

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

In 1985 I bought a 1971 Chevelle Malibu 350 for $100.00, triple green that had seen too many NY winters. The quarters were rotted half way up, fenders flapped in the breeze and the 350 had a bad cam and lifters. Sent that one to the junkyard. My 1976 V8 Vega, no rust, houndstooth interior and a...

    (1971) Thermoquad rebuild question?

It's a 4973s...yes the screw is missing. I actually have two 4973s carbs and a 1972 thermoquad and I am making one good carb from the three. I am not using the base plate in the pic. The other carb does not have the hot idle compensator so I am trying to remove this one.

    (1971) Thermoquad rebuild question?

I believe this is called a hot idle compensator? Does anyone know how it is removed without damaging it? Does anyone know if one is available somewhere? Is it possible to eliminate it and plug it? Thank you.

Remember when we were young and this was the look we were going for.

1982 hanging out and my girlfriend and her sister comes home in her new boyfriend's car. He pulls up in a 1969 Mach 1 with Cragars, jacked up with 50s on the back that stuck out of the quarter panels. We both said what a cool car. 1989 I see a local ad for a Mach 1 for sale. Yep, same car...

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

The scary part is, that car is not an original V24 car and the hood paint in the inner fenders are incorrect, and it looks like the rear leaf spring shackles are on backwards.

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

I view this like owning a house. These auctions only increase the value of my car, albeit it doesn't matter as I won't be selling.

    Numbers crunchers. Carburetor question?

What would you think is the most correct date code for a carb for a 1971 Duster 340 with a SPD of July 9th, and the engine was forged on January 19th 1971. (matching #s car) #1 March 24th 1971 #2 July 1970 #3 June 30th 1971

Small block Mopar oil filter adapter

I think I know the answer but, I have to re-clock this thing as it's almost impossible to get an oil filter wrench on the filter. Can I loosen that big bolt and turn it or I am going to need to re-gasket the whole thing? Thank you.

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

I had read that Chrysler has the records but they are on the old computer reels when computers were the size of entire rooms and that it would cost millions to translate and decode and there is no profit in doing that for Chrysler.

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

I wonder if it was quality control checking the interior, I see the black bucket seat code. But that's just a guess on my part.

Hello from SW WI, my name is Galen Govier and I just signed up to this site.

I wrote to Mr. Govier back in 1993 and he sent me a letter and I purchased his white book at that time and still have it! In 1993 he had written that my Duster was one of the last produced in 1971 but it was premature to say it was THE last one made for the year. I am curious if that still...

    Fender tag

Very nice. It's a very high VIN number, so it probably has some 1972 parts on it. !
