    360 - Rebuild - Information & Opinions Needed

Full competition VJ's with angles and seat widths chosen to maximize high-lift flow on a race car reduce low- and midrange performance in realistic street-cam lift ranges. Also you want a fairly thick margin on a STREET engine. 30°/45°/60°. As per the OP's original post.

So have you used the 50° seat on a LA p-car head? Or just what you read in the LS forums? Local machine shop here wanted a grand to go external to internal balance. Don't see how 30° are for tractors. ASK the pure stock drag guys about it.

Well, it's cracked. How bad is it?

Seems like you want the easy way out. Break it off, you risk it cracking more, or the metal there might be porous and you break off a bigger chunk. Anyways, your engine, your money. Do what you want.

Well I guess your right if your talking aftermarket heads. The OP is using stock P-car heads. Just a 30* cut with no porting will yield significant gains in the below .400" area.

Well, it's cracked. How bad is it?

Drill a 1/8"th hole where the crack ends, and call it a day.

50*? Yikes.. you running .700" lift solid rollers? I'm taking up to .500"ish lift. 30* seems to outflow big time any other angle up to .350", where the majority of cylinder filling takes place. 70 throat and your set IMO.

^^ To internally balance a 360, won't that cost a ton of $$$.. mallory metal etc. I heard 30* seats are the hot seat up on the intakes.

Well now. I also cc'd some 3671587 smog heads, they were around 71.5cc on average. Interesting that the 80's heads (well at least in your case) chambers are larger.

    I'm ASSuming 70cc chambers.
  17. DARTH V8R

    426 stroker, is it reliable?

Didn't miss any point. Over 500ft-lbs from 2800 - 3600 rpm, then it doesn't drop below 500 ft-lbs all the way through 6800. No need for a 4500 stall. 3K would do it. 3400 car, 3.91's, 3000 stall, you have a low 10 ride. They used KB pistons, around 10.6cr IIRC. Iron heads more then doable for...

    426 stroker, is it reliable?

    Strokers... bah! 587.5HP @ 6400RPM and 528.5 ft-lbs torque @ 5000RPM on a 3.58" stroke cast crank & LA iron heads, all in UNDER 7000rpm. #14---360 Stage 3 Dyno Test

Only deck the block to square it up. KB 107's will give you around 10:1 (.011 in the hole), Speed-Pro H116CP30 around 9.8:1 (.026 in the hole). Comp 268AH-10 cam, Heads stock, Intake stock, headers, 32* total timing all in by 2800. Some 3.55 & factory or aftermarket hi stall converter around...

    XE 268 cam

Interesting. IMO 36 degrees total is way to much.. 31-32 total. But depends on if you picked a shitty cam or not. Lol. I'm buying for my current 360 project.
  23. DARTH V8R

    XE 268 cam

Yah was meant for you. If yah had it I'd buy it on the spot. Always looking for SBM stuff so hit me up if you have any 4-sale. Anyways, where did you get that '1*per5*of cam timing larger than 220@050' formula? Cause if your running vac advance the timing will get outta hand.
