    The longer coolant stays in the rad, the longer it will stay in the block as well, getting hotter... What helped in my case was bigger volume water pump and high flow thermostat.

    What is your idle timing? Advancing the timing will bring the vacuum up. On my 440 with Lunati cam I had to set idle advance to 22 degrees to get 15 inches of vacuum. The vacuum might go up a bit once rings are broken in.

    That looks good! I am using 727 tranny and I had firewall / intake manifold clearance issues. Had to switch to car intake and front cover. Mine is a c-body though. I was able to use 45 degree filter adapter.

    This pan is made of quiet steel - 2-layer steel with plastic in between. Ask me how I know. Still could be modified, just more complicate to weld.

    As I recall the book Big-Block Mopar Engines (How to Rebuild): Don Taylor calls for 5 ft/lbs per cylinder. So under 40 is fine.
