That is a great technique, I'm going to have to remember that. Thank you!

    Building a early Cuda.

Swapped a Slant to a 360 in a 64 Dart, pretty easy and straightforward especially for a beginner. Ask plenty of questions and since you say you are financially able to have a project, spend wisely so that you can do it right the first time, will save money and headaches in the long run.

66 dart rear seats, what else fits?

I have a front and rear bench from a 63 Dart 4-door available if the will work for you. Padding and covers are shot but would make a great core for a re-do. PM me if interested.

    Torque Flight Trans Help

There is a company called Imperial Services that will convert your pushbuttons to work with a later trans, but it's pricey $$$!! However this really opens up your transmission choices over the 64-65 pushbutton v8 904's. I went with an aftermarket floor shifter when I did the same swap you are...

    help for dobadaddy's kiddo AUCTION

I will throw in the Avon "Stock Car Racer" Superbird I found today. With excellent condition original packaging and plenty of Wild Country aftershave still left in the bottle. Perfect Christmas gift for the Mopar collector.

Picked this up at the thrift store today....

Thanks!! Needless to say when I opened the box to see it in perfect shape I was stoked. I also have an Avon "Super Shoe" (liquid hair trainer!) that is also NIB that I got via a white-elephant gift exchange. As a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's it seemed like Avon was everywhere in our...

Picked this up at the thrift store today....

Believe me there is still PLENTY of Wild Country out there. Imagine how many fathers over the years hit the Wild Country trifecta -- birthday, Christmas, AND Fathers Day LOL! I see this stuff at just about every thrift shop, flea market and yard sale I go to, but the Superbird bottle is a new...

    66 273 engine roller rocker

Where are you located in Indiana? I'm in Cincinnati, could possibly be interested if you are close by. What transmission comes with it and is it a pushbutton trans? Thanks -Tim

Raise rear end with extra leafs??

I want to get the rear end of my 64 Dart up a couple inches for tire clearance and attitude but cannot afford SS springs at the moment. I do have an extra set of used stock springs, can I add a lead or two to the set already on the car and will this raise the rear any or just cause problems? Car...

    Need jetting help!

Unless you have an A/F meter installed, you'll probably be tuning to the plug readings and seat-of-the-pants driving feel. I have read repeated accounts of these carbs being so lean-calibrated that it's hard to get a good tune with them. The online manual from edelbrock has a tuning chart that...

Advice on small block (and transmission) shopping?

You will get 8 gazillion different opinions on what's best, the best thing to do is first determine what you are going to be doing most with the vehicle and then plan according to that goal while keeping your budget in mind. Take the time to research all the suggestions and then make your parts...

    318 issue randomly..

Have you checked the carb to make sure the motor is getting gas? Remove the air cleaner and look down the carb with a flashlight. With motor running open the throttle and make sure it is spraying gas in a mist or spray from BOTH barrels of the primaries. Should be spraying from the boosters that...

    Carb Questions..HELP!

I just replaced an eddy1406 with a Holley 4777 and couldn't be happier. Car runs better with the Holley than it ever did with the eddy. Running a 360 with stock heads an lunati 288/.480 cam. Holley is the way to go IMO. More adjustability than the edelbrock/carter, I feel.

    Rough Idle/Running

Is the choke closing too much possibly not letting enough air into the motor? Try cold-starting it with the choke wired fully open and see if that helps. I just went through hell with an eddy 1406 600cfm carb and fixed that problem with a 650 Holley double pumper. Everything I've read about the...

Another 273 to 318 swap questions

I think it's do-able in a weekend if you do as much prep beforehand as possible, even to laying out the tools, etc. think of it as a medical procedure - doctors don't go into surgery and immediately start rummaging through a giant toolbox, they have everything laid out and an assistant at the...

    Engine swap

Just drop it in and see how it sits. Even if it doesn't have the drop center link, you could shim the motor mounts about 3/8" and get enough clearance that way, it's what I did.

Would you daily drive an early A?

I daily drive my 64. It's not fuel efficient with a hungry 360 but it sure is fun. Upgrading the brakes and seatbelts should be all the safety equipment you need - more importantly you will learn how to actually DRIVE a car instead of just riding along behind the wheel like in a newer car. I've...

    Edelbrock 600 carb issue?

Well I got it figured out. The other day I was attempting to tune this Holley some more and I finally noticed that the pass side primary booster wasn't spraying fuel when throttle was applied. So I took the bowl off and started cleaning every hole again with carb cleaner. While I had it apart I...

Holley 600 Double pumper on a stock 318 Auto?

Great minds think alike, I guess. I just put the same carb on my 360, no choke either. I have some tuning issues to sort out but I think it's going to like it.

    Edelbrock 600 carb issue?

Will read the plugs when I get out of work today. Drove it in and jetted up to 69's on primary side on lunch, and it drove a little better!!!! Might go to 71 primary 73 secondary and see what that does. Right now the hesitation is minimized and idle is down to about 1000rpm and more stable.

Replacing gas tank in my '65 Dart...

Actually that sender unit looks to me like it might still be good under all the crud. I know a new one is in order but just for laughs you might clean it up and test it to see if it works better, would be handy to keep around as a spare.

    Edelbrock 600 carb issue?

Oh, and I am running a higher-stall converter, it was custom-built for my combo, believe its about a 2000rpm stall speed.

    Edelbrock 600 carb issue?

Well the loaner carb turned out to be a severe leaker once some gas got to it so it came right back off. Then just for sh*ts and giggles I put on a Holley 650 double pumper (with the choke milled off) that I had laying around and was able to get the car up and idling and actually driving. It's a...

    Holley list 8060 carb

I have a Holley 8060 4bbl, it's a 600 cfm 4175 vacuum-secondary model and looking it up online it appears the original application was for 400+ci big block Olds and Pontiac motors as a Quadrajet replacement. (I know its a GM carb but its what i have laying around) Would this carb feed a mildly...

    Diagnosing a slow fuel leak

First thing I would ask is have you noticed the fuel level running down after sitting for a while? Also check the filler neck grommet, it could be old/shrunk/cracked/missing allowing gas to evaporate from the tank or fuel to slosh out while in motion (which you wouldn't see when examining the...
