Thank you. I’ll pick one up

    ‘68 Master Cylinder question

Replacement master for 68 dart. Does this keeper stay on or is it just for shipping? Looks like it is to hold the piston in the MC. The master still fits flush against the firewall so there is no interference there. If it does stay, does it take the place of this style piston stop? Trying to...

    68 Dart wiring questions

Thanks again for the replies and info. The main reason I did the ammeter bypass like I did was that we don't have a dash cluster for him at the moment and I knew it wasn't safe to have the red and black ammeter wires lose in the dash so I connected them with a small bolt and taped it really...

    68 Dart wiring questions

A lot of good info here! But this also leads me to another question I have. There is no ammeter currently as the dash cluster is out. I have attached and taped the red and black ammeter wires together for now but as I understand it the true ‘bypass’ involves more than that

The circled hole is not tapped. Neither are the other two. Here are close ups of the two field terminals

    68 Dart wiring questions

We are working on my uncles 68 Dart. For now just trying to get it running and moving before we worry about what’s ‘correct’. My first question is can I use an alternator with 2 (I assume) field terminals when his car only has wiring for one (green.) I have that alternator and we are hoping to...

[WANTED] 4 speed console top (66-68)

Thanks but that is a little more than I’m looking for. I just need the top plate (and technically just the front plate as I’m switching to manual from auto.) I’d hate to split up that beautiful set. That should go in a car that had that tach originally, looks to be in great shape!

[WANTED] 4 speed console top (66-68)

I am looking for a 4 speed top for the early style console with the strip in the middle. I know they reproduce them but was curious if there were any original ones out there for sale.

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

That was a concern of mine for sure. Going to give them a shot and see. Some have said the thick rail actually helps. I hope so.

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

Oh wow! I see what you mean. That’s not quality at all. I went with a Mr. Gasket set. Will report on quality and fit when they get here.

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

Thanks all! I have decided to try a set of the fabbed aluminums.

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

I agree, those fabbed aluminum ones are nice! I just wonder though - every set I’ve seen the mounting surface is completely flat, and also pretty wide. I think I even read on one they don’t recommend a gasket - just silicone? This style is very interesting but the mounting surface on these iron...

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

You’re talking about the finned ones I assume? I have always loved the looks of these! I thought they had been discontinued but after your post I see that Mancini lists them, but is out of stock. Of course there are also some sets listed on eBay for 400 and more. I’ve seen similar finned designs...

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

This is a pretty cool idea! Unfortunately I don’t have the skills or equipment to pull something like that off lol

    Big block Valve cover suggestions?

Wondering what you guys have had luck with on your race cars. I love the looks of these proforms but they leaked almost immediately and it is getting worse. Time to try something different. Lots of companies sell similar versions of those fabbed aluminum ones but that’s a lot of $ to guess wrong...

    Fiberglass door/window guidance needed

Ok all I got the latch kit but one part is tripping me up and isn’t mentioned at all in the provided instructions. How does this little aluminum bracket attach to the back of the big button that says ‘push’? In the photos on their site it shows it there and I assume it’s to pull it open from...

Idiot light questions from a dummy

I have never thought of this, but did notice that some of the kits come with a tee fitting. I thought I had seen a tee fitting used in the block and assumed that’s what that was for I guess.

Idiot light questions from a dummy

Sounds good Kim. I just wasn’t sure, especially on the oil ports on the back of the block. There are two ports opposite each other and one is currently just plugged. Could it be as easy as just threading a sending unit into one side and leaving the pressure line hooked up to the other?

Idiot light questions from a dummy

I need to look into this for sure. I’ve wondered why the gauges don’t just come with copper line to begin with.

Idiot light questions from a dummy

I appreciate the replies guys and I agree that I don’t really “need” the warning lights. It’s mostly just my ocd. They are already mounted in the dash. I was just thinking of making them functional.
  29. demon322

Idiot light questions from a dummy

The custom fabricated dash in my race car already has warning lights for water temp and oil pressure. I have decided they might as well be functional. I run mechanical gauges but I have found some relatively cheap ‘kits’ with senders and wiring to run the warning lights. My question is, where to...
