    Cat wiskers AKA window felts.

Thanks Guys for the response. Painters masking tape a good idea. The FSM show an adjustable stop for the front that lowers the glass to give more clearance. The rears are the real difficult ones. Any tips Chris on pulling out the rear glass? Thanks

360 in 273 Clothing for the ‘66 Valiant.

318willrun makes a good point. Try the exhaust manifolds on the engine before you get the engine in the car. Left side may interfere with the head. Did on mine when I swaped in a 360.

    Cat wiskers AKA window felts.

Can anyone give some advice regarding replacing the window felts on my 64 Valiant V200 sedan. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially with the rear windows that do not roll down all the way. Tips, pointers ect?

Seat covers for 1967 Dodge dart 2 door post

1967 Dodge Dart, your car is referred to as a 2dr. sedan. Try SMS auto fabrics, they are now offering seat covers as well as the fabric by the yard. They had the exact fabric for my 64 Valiant 2dr. sedan.

    Never saw this before!

Not related to 273 ci. clearance theory. Just a heads up I recently dropped a 360 ci. in my 64 and had a issue with the stock early A drivers side exhaust manifold. The 360 had the desirable 308 casting heads but with the air injection port feature below each exhaust port. I had to grind away...

70 up charging system upgrade question

I like Mattax's ideas. I am going to draw up a schematic of my Valiant "as built". I am willing to bet you have a broken wire inside the insulation with only a few strands carrying current. I came across this once and I think it was a bad splice made in the manufacture of the wire to extend the...

70 up charging system upgrade question

I didn't know what you were referring to as far as the "MAD bypass". As far as the resistance on the ballast resistor I don't know what the acceptable range is. There has to be a plus and minus tolerance range as with anything else. Now you got me curious. If I come up with something I will pass...

    Small block oil filter question

Why don't you just re orientate the filter adapter to allow the full size filter to fit? I have a small block in my 64 and I use the full size PH8 Fram filter. The PH16 Fram is a short version. Here is how I set mine up. PS sorry didn't notice you're being pressed for time.

70 up charging system upgrade question

The diagram show it as Ma Mopar did it. You are correct I just tied into the blue on the ignition 1 side of the ballast resistor. FYI the new alternators can crank out in excess of 60AMP. The wiring carrying the current through the ammeter is not rated to carry that many amps and you run the...

Thanks for the advice about the 4th gear vulnerability on the OD units. Sounds like you got a real runner there. I am just running stock 360 with a AVS 4 barrel from a 60's 340 with dual exhaust. Not making the kind of HP you have. I haven't even made a pass on a quarter mile yet. I doubt I...

    75 d100 360

That is definitely the best way to go and balanced to 7200 rpm, I like. My budget build is more conservative. Just going with Ma Mopars knowhow. Last thing I wanted was to get it up and running and have a vibration, so I did the research. I love my 4 speed, I am running an OD version with 2.76...

    75 d100 360

If you look at manufacturers like Dorman and Dayco they list two different part numbers for the balancer. Of course the one I needed for my stick was more expensive. I wouldn't call you're engineering a hack, it's ingenuity! Wrenching on you're own build is pure motorhead satisfaction. I was...

    75 d100 360

I went to order a new one for my swap and thats when I discovered that there was a different one for each application. Note the flywheel for the 360 has three counter bored holes in it to balance, not added weights. I also solved the radiator issue by using a 1970 Dart rad. same year they...

    75 d100 360

Hello doopdoop67, I am about to put a 360 in place of a 318 also. The 360 is externally balanced and as a result the harmonic balancer and flywheel are used to properly balance the engine. Since you are using an auto trans you need the correct plate and possibly the torque converter as well. If...

    Rear

Cuda620, Maybe I mis understood. I was under the impression you were looking to go from a 7 1/4 to an 8 3/4 and had a b body rear handy. If you have an 8 3/4 and are looking to go up to the 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern just do the axle swap. I just did mine with Dr. Diff axles. But you must use the...

    Rear

Plenty of people do it, less bucks than finding an a-body 8 3/4. Perches go in 1/2" each side. Wheel back spacing may have to change. Make the swap but take numbers of original rear distance from fender and compare to new space and change rims accordingly. You may get lucky and you're present...

Best disk brake kit for 65 Dart?

I used the disc setup from a 73-76 Duster ect. Used all from the lower control arm up. Use the big ball joints also and the one piece rotors. Bolts right in. Dump that single master cylinder, go with a dual and plumb in an adjustable proportioning valve in the line for the rear brakes and you're...

    what master cylinder to use?

Hello Bill, I guess you are installing the upper control arms, knuckles discs ect from the 73 and big ball joints? I did that on my 64 and all worked great. I went with a stock 73 dual manual cast iron master. I also recommend you use a stock drum brake distribution block and install an...

    New timing chain, allowable slack?

I would install the tensioner P5007709. I have done so in my small blocks and it dramatically improved timing accuracy. All that slop causes the timing mark to jump around when you attempt to set it. I bet you have all seen this.
