Ok, time to be humble and ask everybody for advise once again. Just finished the 225 to 318 engine swap on our 74 Duster using the schumacher mounts, get everything all bolted up, all the accessories on the motor, drop the front end of the car and now she sits considerably higher in the front...

We are doing a slant 6 to 318 conversion in my sons 74 duster, the car came with the Schumacher 340-360 mounts included in the deal. Since I already have a pretty well built 318 we were planning on using that motor. I know the left side should be fine but I'm told the right hand side is...

thanks for the info..... I was able to look up behind the dash and the gauge looks fine. no sign of melting at all. could it possibly the ignition switch? there seems to be alot of play in it.

I had the same problem in my 74 roadrunner, I was told by a mechanic friend of mine that it was possible the pressure plate was not evenly tightened down thus causing problems. That was not the case with me, my problem was a crappy clutch kit, when I broke down and spent the money for a high...

I will thanks....If that is the case can I just bypass the gauge by jumping it, or is it more involved?
