    Ammeter heat question

I decided I wanted to do the easier ammeter bypass in my 67 Sat by bolting together the feeds and taping up really good. My question is would you expect them to get warm? Roughly, 100degs? I would expect due to resistance in the system, some heat is expected, but it surely is not enough to melt...

    Understanding valve seals

so I've run into an issue of oil consumption and smoke on startup after sitting. Everything seems to point to valve seals. Unfortunately, I have 500 miles on a rebuild and the I'm not totally confident in the headwork. They came to me with different stem heights and I ended up with diff. push...

currently, my 67 satellite has a 2.76 open 741 rear and I just picked up a 3.23 489 case. I read somewhere that I would need to change the pinion? Any input on what's needed for this swap would be appreciated.

    Pushrod length w/roller rocker

Measured up pushrod length with Comp cams checker. I have a .043 variance due to valvestem heights (stock variance is .030). My plan is to go longer pushrods(all 16)…so that all lifters will get some pre-load on assembly (.006 to .050). That will leave me with adding in .040 to .075 preload with...

1970 heads..pushrods solid or with holes?

My 1975 heads had solid pushrods and solid disc lifters. I put 1970 heads on with hughes lifters (lifters have oil hole). As far as i csn tell 70 heads had push rods with no oil hole. From what i've read my combo (lifter w/hole and no hole pushrod) should work. I want to confirm which pushrods i...

question on head exhaust port size

looking at TTI headers for my 75 318 with 70 heads. TTi says 4wks for small port 318 head at 1.09w x 1.55h. Larger 318/340/360 exhaust port is 1.30w x 1.80h. I wasn't aware of the different sizes. Can't wait 4wks. Thinking about Dougs d453's...they don't list any difference in the exhaust port...

Intake confusion...is the AirGap too big for a 318?

After alot of searching, I'm still confused as to why some say the Eddy Performer RPM Airgap intake, with its bigger ports, runs well on their 318, while many say, run the smaller port Performer intake, which is a basic 4bbl intake. My setup is: stock 318, stockcam, stock ignition, Eddy SP2P...

Full disclosure...I'm new to Mopars. I have a 318, good compression that I'm planning on using a set of 302 rebuilt heads. I'm looking at the Comp cam XE268H.
