    1976 Fury Salon (318) car continues to run with key off and key out of ignition. Has just started with this problem.

    Using the above mentioned document, I have 12 volts at the ballast resistor and I have 6 volts on my coil (+ side) with key in run position. I am going to try a new ballast resistor.

    It starts very briefly and cuts off, it seems to stay running if I keep the key turned to the start position.

    I have 1.2 on the bottom terminals and 5 on the top terminals. Can I hook it up to the bottom 2 terminals and use it like a single resistor? I have a new control unit that I have installed (it is a 4 pin ) and this has not changed the no start condition.

    I have a 1976 Fury Salon that will crank and start very briefly but will cut off almost immediately. The engine will not run on starter fluid or if you hold the throttle down. It just starts and then shuts off. I was wondering about the ignition once it goes from the start position to the run...
