My- how the month's have flown by! I still hope everyone is well here on the site? Not that all care, but I am still somewhat immersed in the Mopar kingdom. Some of my last posting were all about the turning of our '65 Barracuda into an altered wheelbase wonder, but I"ve been re-thinking it...

    '64 Dart build-up.

I've been stuck on working on B-bodies for awhile now, but back into the swing of the ""A's"". Here is a link to Tom Lynch's soon to be on an East Coast drag strip '64 Dart. A rarified SoCal, original owner find car, it has to be one the most unmolested cars I've unearthed to date. They are...

In the coming month's I'll be partially parting out a '65 Barracuda. This car will be transformed into an altered wheelbase car, so quite a bit of odds and ends, and some hard to find parts are going to find their way into the for sale ads. The complete front suspension assembly is already...

    The Next in Line.

After shaking off some of the dust that settled around me due to the fact I fell off the board for awhile, I'm being hopeful I'll be welcomed back! I had to take a "Chrysler Hiatus" to build, and race my last car, an altered wheelbase Comet. Well, thats done, and we are enjoying it fine, but the...

    Traditional Rod and Kulture.

Who thought in a magazine like this, there'd be an appearance by a Dart!!! http://www.rodandculture.com/ I've yet to get my hands on an issue, but I've received calls that its a three page spread, and has some quite nice photographs. Well, all but the powerplant for the purists. The weekend...

Its always good to know that your street-strip altered wheelbase funnycar, in this case Magnante's '63 Dart, also doubles as a tow vehicle in a pinch!! I see a drag week car in the works!! You can sleep in the trunk, there is soooo much room!! Dale

Identity Crisis lands in the U.K.!!

New owner Bryan Gibson had no sooner unpacked the '64 AWB Dart out of the shipping container, then trailered it out to one of Englands premier vintage drag races: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDIbPmpONEk He reported it needed some "airing out" after the long overseas trip, the gas was a...

    The Last Pass .

Tonight, my '64 Dart made its last runs out at Iwindale's 1/8th mile dragstrip, here in Southern California. The altered never fails to turn heads or gather a crowd, and tomorrow morning, its dropped off to be shipped over to the United Kingdom, to be one of only a small group of altereds...

    New AWB build.

Hello to all-- We'll. I've embarked on yet another trip down Chrysler Alley. I"ve changed gears a bit, most likely due to the constant badgering by my b-body buddies. I've really got the ball rolling on my '64 Polara altered wheelbase car. Here is a link to the build progress, on a day to day...

    Human Dart art!

I didn't trust her to straddle the hood for a "hood ornament", but Pricilla was happy to oblige for at least a fender polish!!! Good fun at this event. Mark it for your calender next year! These were taken at last weekends Dragfest '09, held at the legendary Famoso Dragstrip in Bakersfield...

    NHRA March Meet 2009

Well, for the AWB Dart's first time out on a quarter mile track, it did just fine, albeit a bit on the slow side (we know thats 'cause it's Chevy powered!). But- - - I drove it through four rounds of eliminations with the snadbagging pros. One more, and I'd been in the moeny! The car handled...

    March Meet, 2009 !

Will anyone from here be heading out to this years March Meet, at Famoso? I"m towing the Alter-Dart up, for its first ever 1/4 mile passes, uncorked. It very well may not be the fastest, but it'll fit right in with the rest of the cars up there! http://www.famosoraceway.com/marchmeet.htm

    Stepping Stones.

You know how you try to work your way up the "hotrod" ladder? I think thats how most of us do it. At least thats the only way I can afford it. I've struck a deal, to work my way up the next step. Unfortunately, I'm still two or three steps from the top, which for me is a blown, injected B-Body...

    Altered drag video.

While it is a bit grainy, its the first time I've ever seen myself race! A less than stellar launch proves my feeling that I"m spinning the tires off the line. And, those hard as a rock Mickey Thompsons pie-crusts are not helping as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-bNzaIFSoo

    Sure-Grip- kaput.

After a few weeks building a new, custom set of headers, I got the Dart back to the track to see if it was all worth it, and was treated to 3/10's e.t. improvement, and 4 mph!!! 3/10's in the eighth is big fo me!! But- the freebie 3.91 Sure-Grip I scored off my donor van is in its last pass death...

    440 score for the altered!

This morning, I think I bagged what I feel is a good score for a drivetrain: '72 440 motorhome engine/trans, complete down to the Thermo-quad, and electrics mounted on a steel plate. Looks like a forged crank as well. 30,000 mile engine that when we pulled off the valve covers looked real...
