The carb I pulled off was a Holley 750cfm 4 barrel. I wanted something smaller that would work with engine better. I'm looking at ordering a new throttle cable somebody posted up in here as well.

So I have a lot to learn still. I was matching up how the guy I got it from had the Holley hooked up. What am I doing wrong and what do I need to fix? Sorry if it's to many questions, but I want to make sure I do it right. This is the first time I've swapped a carb.

Sorry I work nights and got off at 6 am this morning. Yes the original was the 318 in the car.

I had put it in the clamp and pulled slack, but it was still giving me issues. I'll look into the linkage though.

I am pretty sure it's the stock cable. It was hooked up to my old carb, but they had the excess cable by the firewall. When I try to do what was done before it keeps bending the cable. I have a connection to run the cable through if I cut it, but just not sure I want to do that.

I disconnected it for now, but I have the clips and all that were used on the old carb. I have it laying there to show how much further the cable goes past the linkage.

I'm having trouble getting the throttle cable hooked up to my new carb. Problem is throttle cable is to long. When the cable should be going back, as of you let off the gas, the cable bends up and doesn't go all the way back in. My question is should I cut the cable and use a new clamp to...

So this would have came stock with a 340 then? I was trying to figure out what was stock in it before the engine swap as I got the car with it changed. It now has a rebuilt 360 in it, with a Holley 3310 750 cfm carb.

Was something that would have came stock or was it put on later? Would it also be worth it to change from an open dif to say a mini locker?

I have a 73 Duster and looking up it should have came with an 8 3/4 but the dif cover does not match. I'm guessing it's a 8 1/4 just from the dif cover, but I'm not exactly car savy. The tag on it says 3.21, the cover is not perfectly round like a 8 3/4 is. If somebody could give a little...

I also got lucky on LetGo. Got a set of Cragar slotted mags, 14x6 front and 14x8.5, with tires for $60. While it's not what I want it will hold me over until I get what I want.
