Dang, now that you brought it up, now I want to do that.

how strong is the 8 3/4 #741 case?

So luckily for me, I accidently scored an 8 3/4 rearend, but found out it is a 67 b-body rearend with 11in backing plates and 2:94 surerip to boot. I decided when the time comes, I'll probably swap this rear into my duster. I was thinking that instead of swapping out the diff assembly, I could...

Will Sanderson shorty small block headers fit on 1970 dart with power steering?

Will Sanderson shorty headers for 340 1970 dart swinger with power steering? Friend found a set cheaper than manifolds was was thinking of putting them on her car. Not race car, street car cruiser.

Any companies selling complete small block overdrive transmission assembles?

Got my quote from Silversport. $5000. Seems like it’s good, but priced high for a 300’ish hp engine.

Any companies selling complete small block overdrive transmission assembles?

Looking to put an overdrive auto into a 73’ Duster and maybe another car. I’m looking for a company that sells everything so I don’t have to do any parts hunting. I know I will have to shorten the driveshaft, but that can be farmed out locally. I don’t want a gear vendor unit. If I’m going to...

Choices for a shorty small block headers for 73’ A-body.

Thank you for taking the time to read and providing an honest reply. I was looking for headers that were easy to do maintenance on the drivetrain without having the pipes in the way. TTI is not far from my location and knew they were a 3rd choice for me as after cheaply headers and the ones...

Choices for a shorty small block headers for 73’ A-body.

So I’m still getting parts for my Fugly Duckling 73’ Duster build and decided on some cheaply shorty headers for easier install and easier side dump for some cut out. Looks for something that clears power steering box and does not require me being a contortionist to change apart plugs. Small...

    Header/manifold dyno test

So with a difference of an average 15hp/tq gain for $1,000 headers compared to exhaust manifolds? I’ve seen this chart when it came Out and realized headers were not worth my it on my resto car, even with a 400hp crate engine. Think I’ll go with shorty headers on the duster next cause I hate...

Thank you for that info. The link does not work with iPhone for some reason. Will try looking up directly.

I wish Rocky Mountain Dashes was still around.

For those that didn’t know, many, many moons ago, there was a company call Rocky Mountain Dashes. They made some interesting dashes for an assortment of only Mopar cars. Even though the prices were a little high, they were unique and made the boring dashes of custom and race cars look great...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

update. Still need an engine for my 1941 Plymouth, so I'm still going to build a stroked 318, just won't go into the Duster. My goal was to get information on a stroked teen' motor and got the questions needed. Though it was not originally set in stone, it was more than informative and gave me...

73' 904 swap to 727: what parts need to be swapped?

Never knew the converters were unmerchantable between 904 and 727 trans. figured I would get one with trans as needed for my build.

73' 904 swap to 727: what parts need to be swapped?

So I'm sourcing parts for when the car is going to get stuff thrown at it. I know the 904 is bone stock and instead of trying to upgrade it, was looking to have a beefy 727 slapped in. besides the driveshaft, what parts will need to be swapped/modified to make it work? I do plan to swap from...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

love the info and ideas on this build. have some updated info: A friend of mine needed a stock 318 for a driver. I'm going to give him one of my engines. The same friend has a contact with a 360 engine I can get for nearly noting and has speed parts on it. Decided to use the 360 block, pan and...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

Nah dog, that block was for someone wanting to push four digits with little worry. I’m contempt with enough horsies to have fun and be dumb and just do my thing. Not trying to be number one at every stop light, expressway merger or Even if I see a random mustang owner. 318 might be worth...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

Well that was a bust. The yard said they had a 360 in and fresh, but guess they can’t tell a dodge 360 from an AMC 360 out of a jeep. Guess I’ll just keep looking for more info on 318 builds. I do have an early date 1971 318 that would work for a good core block. Has less than 45k miles on it...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

Appreciate all the input from everyone. Just got a call and another 360 engine came into the recycling yard. Going tuesday to see if it's a good core.

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

Can’t afford the hemi, and was thinking big block, but the huffer showed up and would be a cheaper build plus headers on a big block duster with power steering gave me anxiety Just thinking about it.

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

Rumblefishy360, I deal with scrap yards in the hood where they destroy motor homes and salvage vehicles and that’s where I get my core engines. The cranks in anything that is cast is usually bad. Because these are crack shacks and rarely in good condition (unless there was a lab inside) are...

Is building a stroked 318 better than a stroked 340/360?

that's one of my concerns is that the 318 is weaker at some point than the other blocks. Thank you for bringing that up. maybe someone can chime in that that is a weak point that needs to be addressed.
