    71 Dakota100 suspension build

I’m finally getting around to starting on my ‘71 D100 that I’ve had sitting in the background. When I bought this truck, it “yard drove”. Floors were as strong as a used paper straw and more see through than your screen door, brakes nonexistent, and the steering was like trying to lead an...

    Bumper stickers

Had a buddy make a couple stickers. Everyone that sees my RamCharger calls it a Bronco. The one on the Duster is just a funny movie quote. What stickers do y’all have?

    Finally secure

We finally got some doors put up on the garage that my Dad and I have been building. It’s a great feeling to have all of my stuff locked up and safe in a dry place. It’s not 100% dried in yet, but we’re getting close. Thinking about getting a 2 post lift now.

    Ball hone?

I have a cheap motorhome 440 that I was going to build into a stroker. When disassembling it I learned how NOT to remove rusted water pump housing bolts, and broke the block. I believe it’s usable, but I don’t want to put a lot of money into now. I’m thinking about just putting some pistons...

    Most reliable unreliable car

I break something on my car about once a week, but it always gets me home. At first I was ripping the driver side motor mounts to pieces. But now that I’ve chained the engine down, I’m smashing the passenger side mount. I plan on redesigning the mounts when I rebuild the car. Just thought this...

    Melted inline fuse

I had an in-line fuse on the power wire for my electric water pump. It’s a 20amp mini blade fuse that came with the pump and it’s in a weather resistant fuse holder. Somehow, one of the blade legs burned off, but the actual fuse part of the fuse didn’t blow. How would this even happen? The...

    Front end swap inbound

I was considering doing the Crown Vic front suspension swap on my sweptline, but then I wouldn’t be able to use my awesome new 15” slot mags. I really like QA1 parts, but their front end kit is almost 4k (without brakes). Did some research and found out about the first gen Dakotas. IFS, rack and...

    [FOR SALE] ‘65 Poly 318

I have a “running” D100 that I’m about to tear apart to do a partial resto on and big block swap it. It has a Poly 318 in it that will fire up and run with fuel and a battery. Has a 2 barrel intake with a Holley 4 barrel adapted to it, and an electronic distributor. Come see it run in the truck...

How bad did I screw up

Bought a super cheap RV 440 yesterday. Tearing it down today I was fighting one of the water pump housing bolts. I broke the block I feel like this isn’t the end of the road for this block. There’s still about a 1/4” of hole left behind the break.

    What are you welding with?

I’m looking into getting a new welder. I currently have the smallest Lincoln mig available, and also 2 of the largest Lincoln multiprocess welders ever sold. I’m self taught with Mig and stick and want to figure out Tig now. What kind of welders are y’all using that can do Mig/Tig/Stick? I’d...

    Wipers don’t return home

Hey guys, what would cause my 70 Duster 2 speed windshield wipers to not return to the bottom of the windshield when I turn them off? They stop wherever you turn them off even if they’re sitting in the middle of the windshield. Is this a switch problem or a motor problem? Or could it be a wiring...

    Big block/3 on the tree?

Was there ever any Mopar application that used a 3 speed manual with a big block? If so, what transmission was it? My d100 has a Poly 318/3 on the tree. I love the three on the tree set up, and I also love big blocks. It’d be awesome to have both if there is a transmission that won’t explode...

    [FOR SALE] 2 Lincoln welders

I have 2 Lincoln Idealarc DC600 multi process welders for sale. I was told they are both fully functional when I bought them, but haven’t been able to test them because neither of them have wire feeders, cables, or pedals. They both have power plugs. They have calibration stickers showing they...

    Welding cables?

Hey guys, I recently bought 2 multi-process Lincoln Idealarc DC600 welders from an auction. They didn’t come with the wire feeders or any cables. They were both wired in for 460V in a locomotive repair shop, using 2/0 cables. Since the wire feeders and factory replacement cables are so damn...

    New transmission is here

Some of you may have seen the thread where I was building a 440 for my RamCharger, and swapping in a 4 speed at the same time. Well after I got it all together and presentable, I realized pretty quickly that the NP435 that I bought used off of failbook, was total junk. It’s the absolute worst...

    Cleaning a fuel tank

I’ve been slowly working on my ‘71 D100 and it had some gas in it that’s probably older than me. The inside of the tank looks pretty bad. The outside of the tank is perfect. I actually thought it was a new tank when I first saw it, but it’s dated July 1970. I’ve read multiple ways of cleaning...

    [Found!] 72-82 truck bumper brackets

Just bought a new front bumper for my RamCharger, but can’t find the matching brackets for it. I’m pretty sure any front bumper brackets between ‘72 and ‘82 will work with this bumper. Anyone have some they’d sell and ship to 30458? Thanks

    70s dodge motorhomes

I’m thinking about buying a 70s van nosed motorhome with a big block, to actually use as a motorhome, not an engine donor. I would probably have to gut and remodel the living space, and I’d probably set it up with a Holley Sniper like my other 440s. Has anyone here remodeled an RV before? How...

    Painting over a repaint

I’m replacing some rusted and wrecked parts on my RamCharger. It was originally red, then painted with a single stage gloss black. The parts I’m installing are tan and look to be a factory paint. I’m wanting it two tone, black and B5 blue, with a clear. Not trying to make it a show truck, just...

    Newest addition to my fleet

Went to get some parts for my RamCharger and ended up bringing home a 71 D100 too. Has a 65 poly 318, 3 on the tree, 8.75/3.55 Super solid truck. Drove onto the trailer! Just needs some tlc.

    Lean pop off idle?

Hey guys, I’ve been trying to get my fresh built 440 RamCharger running right, and haven’t had much luck. I haven’t been able to spend much time with it lately, so I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I set the base timing at 16btdc, (haven’t checked total timing yet. I...

Exhaust too loud, battery too dead, milkshakes too hot.

While driving my Duster home from work I stopped at Chick-fil-a for some food and milkshakes. My battery is suffering and will barely start the car, so I left it running through the drive-thru, yelling my order loud enough to be heard from across the street. They didn't have my order ready when...

    NP435/445

Hey guys, I just recently bought a used 4 speed for my RamCharger. The guy said it was an NP435, but it’s got a PTO port on both sides like the NP445. I don’t think the 435 ever came with 2 PTO ports, right? I determined first gear ratio is 4.56:1 by counting how many rotations of the input...

    Car hauler trailers

I’m going to be looking for a car trailer soon. I’m thinking I want an 18’ steel deck with the standard 3500lb axles. Aluminum trailers are cool but out of my budget right now. My parents have a 24’ enclosed car hauler that is now a storage shed, and is a little too big for my 5.7 1500. What...

    Noisy rocker arm?

Hey guys, I just got the 440 I rebuilt in my RamCharger running. I primed the oil system and I broke the engine in with some Lucas SAE 30 break-in oil, varying the rpm around 2k for about 15 minutes. I drained the break-in oil out and it looked great. Filled it back up with some VR1 10-30...

    [WANTED] Pulleys and brackets

Looking for the following pulleys and brackets. 4 groove pulley with the 7.5” and 7 pulleys. 2 groove 5 7/8” water pump pulley. These power steering brackets and possibly the alternator bracket that goes with these. Bouchillion Performance has all of this, but I’m on a budget, and don’t...

    72-93 truck clutch linkage questions

Hey guys, I’ve been preparing my 318/auto 83 RamCharger for a big block and a 4 speed (np445) and I’m trying to make sure I have all of the clutch linkage parts before I put the drivetrain in. Is this everything I need? Is this a factory welded clutch rod? It looks very questionable. The...

    440 for my RamCharger

I think this should wake my RamCharger up a little bit. What do y’all think? Should be around 9:1 compression if my guesstimations are correct.
