I know that's been a lot of work, but you're getting close and looking GREAT!

1970 vs 1971 Dart bumper, which looks better?

I was thinking of a flush installation of a clear lens light on each side of the rear license plate, there's a little space between the plate and the opening, might have to mod the crease that's there just a little to widen it.

1970 vs 1971 Dart bumper, which looks better?

I like either style better than this one, maybe I'm just weird....

1970 vs 1971 Dart bumper, which looks better?

I like both styles, but I'm considering converting all 4 rear lenses in my '71 Swinger into parking / brake / turn signal lights - using an extra set of the outer lights to replace the back-up lights. It would give twice as much visibility toward the rear... but then I'd have no lights for...

1970-72 Duster / Scamp / Valiant hood, Southern rust free!

Sorry, I don't have any other other parts from the car. I bought the hood to get the scoops.

1970-72 Duster / Scamp / Valiant hood, Southern rust free!

This hood is for a '70-'72 Duster, Scamp, or Valiant from a Tennessee Scamp. Has holes drilled for mounting the twin scoops, a little surface rust underneath but no bubbles or rust through that I have found. Nice and straight - good solid hood! Located between Nashville, TN and Bowling Green...

    Gotta pee!

Two women friends had gone for a girl's night out. Both were very faithful and loving wives, however they had gotten over-enthusiastic on the Bacardi Breezers. Incredibly drunk and walking home they needed to pee, so they stopped in the cemetery. One of them had nothing to wipe with...

Progress on my 340 Hood Scoops!

The hardware was a little rough on the used set I bought. I'm gonna get some stainless screws with the same thread, cut the heads off of them, clean up the threads and use stainless nylon lock nuts - that way I won't have to worry about them getting rusty.

Progress on my 340 Hood Scoops!

This is some great info! I just got a set of nice used scoops to put on my '71 Swinger. They're black, but the car is Butterscotch with a white vinyl top. I'm leaning toward painting the scoops Butterscotch, as well.... I set them on there and the black scoops look kinda funky with the white...

    Another nice surprise...

BTW, Oklacarcollecto - I had one of the 20-inch Swingers when I was a kid, too. Got it for my 7th birthday and must've put a million miles on it. Mine was just a single-speed with a coaster brake, metallic orange with a black/chrome banana seat. Looks like yours was the tricked-out model...

    Another nice surprise...

I had looked at the car several times in the 5 years or so that I chased it, but mostly investigated the body condition. I personally knew the the first of the 3 owners I tried to buy it from. It had been in his family for over ten years and he said that the drivetrain was original, so I took a...

Anyone ever dealt with a C.O.D.?

Slightly O/T, but about 20 years ago I had a COD for a woman in Sandusky, Ohio who was a palm reader / fortune teller. I walked into her place of business, through the bead curtains, on back to a room with a table and a big glass ball on it. She came out of another room, and I told her I had a...

Anyone ever dealt with a C.O.D.?

Being a FedEx Ground contractor for 25 years, I've handled a few CODs. It costs the shipper extra to do it, I think its about $8.00 or so. If he's passing the shipping on to you, it'll cost you the COD fee. If the shipper requests certified funds, have a cashier's check or money order ready...

    Another nice surprise...

The Dart surprised me last week when I found that one of the previous owners had replaced the original 904 with a 727. So today I was buttoning things up from the converter swap and noticed something weird about the rear end. Can't believe I didn't notice it before, but I didn't pay much...

    5 Stolen Buick Grand Nationals

Happened less than 20 miles from me. Hard to believe they could get away with it, seems there's always somebody hanging around outside the hotels in BG when there's an event going on. Hope they catch the thieves and find the cars, that's awful!

    lets see some garage art

I'm diggin' that lamp! I have a couple of old big-block cams in the shed. I told my wife I should get them Nitroplated and use them as door handles on her new stainless fridge. I don't think she likes that idea....

Finally got a few pics of the "new" Dart!

UPDATE: I replaced the balancer, dropped the pan to check the rotating assembly for problems, replaced the rod bearings (but the old ones were fine), checked the flexplate and converter. The converter was correct but had a crack on the starter ring. I replaced the converter - and the...

Hardest thing i ever had to do

My wife and I were with her Dad at a hospice in July as his liver cancer condition worsened. I had to leave late Sunday morning, and my wife was at his side when he passed away later that afternoon, July 17th, 2011. Losing people reminds us that every day is a gift. It appears that you have...

    New 904 converter doesn't fit.... uh-oh...

That "bump out" is right under where the dipstick tube is. I compared it to my '69 Barracuda's 727, and sure enough... Thanks for the heads-up! Anyone here want a good deal on a Boss Hog converter? LOL!

    New 904 converter doesn't fit.... uh-oh...

I am chasing an engine-speed related vibration on my '71 Dart, 318/904. Took off accessory belts, no change. Installed new balancer, no change. Dropped pan to inspect rotating assembly, nothing weird there, replaced original '71 rod bearings. Flexplate good. Figured it's gotta be a converter...

20 gallons of crap in a 10 gallon hat.

I can actually squeeze in the Dart's driver's door, but I only weigh about 150. For now, the Cuda is stationary while I continue collecting new trim and interior parts and wait until it's time for body and paint. But there's also a welder, an engine hoist, an engine stand, a rolling engine...

20 gallons of crap in a 10 gallon hat.

It's amazing how much you can fit into a 15X27 carport-converted-into-a-garage when you put your mind to it. Good thing I stopped buying C-bodies! LOL!
