Looking for a correct steering column for my dad's barracuda. As mentioned this car has power steering and was converted from 4 speed to auto on the floor.

Hoping someone has some parts to rebuild for my 65 Barracuda steering shaft adapter. I need the correct shoes and retaining spring or springs.

I had installed new shoes from a later rebuild kit that I had purchased. Once everything was reassembled, the steering still had accessive play so my friend and I are tackling it again. When we opened the first time, there were no springs holding the shoes. I bought the car 4 years ago so...

100% agree, which is why I'm consulting the group who has expertise from doing it in the past. I'm starting to think that the only good solution is to buy an aftermarket coupler for safety's sake if I can't purchase the correct rebuild kit and parts.

great article Alan. Can someone please confirm if a 65 Barracuda with power steering can use the later rebuild kits? Are the shoes the same size and does it require the spring? When we took my dad's coupler apart, there was no spring on the shoes. thanks, Karl

so I have the door card and the the chrome trim off. Reaching the retaining nut is almost impossible. I think I need a very long 1/4" drive extension. Is there any trick to reaching this nut, is it from the bottom of the door?

Hi all, quick update...I received a new Pitman arm from Napa and this one fit perfect. I have to assume that there was some issue on the casting of the brand supplied by Rock Auto.

yes the double splines are lined up and I don't think it can fit with the taper the opposite direction can it?

I didn't buy it from Rock Auto for the price, I'm using my buddy's hoist and when he went to get one from Napa, they didn't have one and didn't know when they could get one. I only ordered from them for convenience. I will try and find a replacement. thank you for the feedback!

Thanks Lee. It's my dad's car and I'm trying to get familiar with it. I'm not sure how to remove the top or metal part of the door panel or will removing the soft lower part give enough access?
