I remember scary stuff as well.
I was a bit older than 15 (early 20's), but I had a '69 Dart that I was building as a drag car. I had the car up on jackstands...all four corners in their proper place. Mind you, the car was very light. No motor, fiberglass doors and bumpers. No interior (window...
My markers are from a 70 duster fender on a 69 valiant fender. they are the same size, so i don't know.
Unless somebody knows something I don't 69 Valiant fenders are identical to 1970 duster/valiant. Marker and all.
The steering on my Valiant became really sloppy one day. Upon inspecting everything I found the steering box was actually loose. :-? The 3 bolts had backed out. Tightened them back up and all was normal again.
I thought that was pretty strange actually. I've never had a car do that to me before.
My highschool car back in '89 was a '64 Dodge Polara 500, 2dr HT, 383, buckets, console, floor shift, Poly turquois, white top. Paid $500 for her.
I miss that car. Sold it in '95(ish).
Sounds good. That's got to be a good feeling to have her going again.
I can't wait to see what she runs man.
Post your times the next time you have it out please.
I am a big Nascar fan. A big Kahne fan. But Dodge will always be the "also ran". It's sad.
I hope this year proves me wrong. I'm not holding my breath though.
Edit: Yeah I forgot to mention. They are all the same now...have been for years. The engine (if that) is the only thing that tells them...
Wyo, if you need to store either car, my parents live in crow heart (15-20 miles from Dubois, 50? miles from Riverton). It will be well hidden. 8) hehe.
On that note, there was a house that I would pass heading into Riverton (the road between Dubois and Riverton) that had a bunch of Mopars...
Everything that yot have posted is SCREAMING with "how can I keep up my my friends ricers".
Sell the Dart and play at their level. That is what you really want to do. It's not that hard to figure out.
Then don't do that.
But you have to understand something....we are MOPAR!
Most of us are brand loyal...what Ma Mopar gave us through the years is what we will use. period correct (not 100 point restoration....hot rodding too).
What you want to do is totally foreign (pun intended).
Don't talk...
Sell your Dart and do what your teenager friends are doing.
Get that AWD car and work on that.
Don't fight the feeling man. If that is what you are into...then do it.
Welcome aboard.
Here is a pic of a powerwagon that I know of. Unfortunately it will probably go into the wrong hands. Long story that I don't care to go into. But I have seen the original sales slip straight from the Army auction from 1942. It cost $632 if I remember correctly. It has no rust...
I read this thread before there where any responses to it. I had to go to the bar, drink myself silly and read it again to see if it made any sense.
Nope, it still reads the same.
What?
Thanks for giving me a reason to go out drinking tonight though.

Just trying to help. :-D
Sorry to hear that Valiant got away from you. They are cool little cars for sure.
I keep looking on my local CL for Valiants or parts with no luck. If I do find something, my story will probably be the same as yours.
No kidding. Although I am on the same coast, I just wish times where better for me.
This would be mine if they were. Good luck on the sale. This is almost too good to pass up from the description.
DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!
Edit: is $2,000 a typo?...just too good to go to pass up.
