    That is correct.

    [SOLD] 340 T/A

I have a 340 T/A for sale that I purchased in 1981. It was from a wrecked AAR Cuda, so as far as I know the car is long gone. I purchased the engine in parts. It was bored .030 over. The heads were ported and polished. I have all the documentation of the machine work done to the engine. It...

    Ongoing vibration issue

It's had 2 different converters with the same results. Both internal balance.

    Ongoing vibration issue

Vibration shows up at the same rpm while going down the road. No, the car isn't up on jack stands when tested. It vibrates at rest on all four wheels. If you are going up a hill and can keep the engine at a constant 3000 rpm, it will begin to pulsate. Increase the rpm to 4000 and it...

    Ongoing vibration issue

Yes it was. Vibration and all

    Ongoing vibration issue

Yes, there were already pins in the new block.

    Ongoing vibration issue

And the torque converter also lined up with the wrong dowel pins? If I were to take the dowel pins out of the current transmission, would I see an offset in them if they are the wrong ones?

    Ongoing vibration issue

Could you explain how this caused the vibration? Did the dowel pins not line up with the engine? Mine bolted up perfectly.

    Ongoing vibration issue

The 408 is an internally balanced engine. I made sure of that. The torque converter was replaced, so I doubt two converters would vibrate at the same rpm. Both were for internal (neutral) balance. I purchased the 408 from ATK completely assembled and balanced with forged crank and pistons...

    Ongoing vibration issue

Haven't chimed in in awhile, but looking for more opinions on an ongoing vibration issue I have been dealing with in my Duster that nothing I have done has alleviated the problem. I have a noticeable vibration that starts around 2200 rpm and gets very noticeable at 3000 while the car is at...

    New modified oil slinger

I just received emergency FDA approval to produce them! I love this forum. Always entertaining and quite informative. Stay tuned for full approval if you are interested.

    New modified oil slinger

Guess if you want to use one, this one will not get gouged out by a double chain. That seems to be a common problem. It would be just as easy to make one without blades that still has enough offset to clear the chain, and tensioner if you use one. Lots of opinions here, but wanted to share an...

    New modified oil slinger

Put just a slight pitch to direct the oil back at the chain, but that would be up to the individual.

    New modified oil slinger

Thanks for all the comments. To address your concerns: No clearance problems. The main reason for making it was to address that issue. It is made of stainless and is .020 thicker than the stock one, so fatigue shouldn't be an issue. We even made the area around the keyway thicker to minimize...

    New modified oil slinger

I decided to address the situation I encountered with my factory oil slinger grinding on my double roller timing chain. No more metal where I don't want it. Hopefully this better design will do the job of throwing more oil on the chain. Feedback appreciated. Anyone interested?

All double rollers are not created equal

Purchased a Cloyes true roller with a much smoother chain. Going to use the tensioner. Also addressed the oil slinger clearance issue. No more rubbing and a better design for oil slinging. Will post pictures in another thread.

All double rollers are not created equal

Just thought the tensioner was a good idea when I purchased it. Was going off a build on Power Nation. Think I will be alright with it, even with the current chain, considering it won't be getting high miles put on it, but still might try a new different chain to reduce the wear marks...

All double rollers are not created equal

Not sure I like the look of those wear marks. How many miles? That chain has the same profile as mine. The pictures in the mopar connection article show a different style. So a silent chain or link chain is the only one that can be used with the tensioner? One in the article looks like the...

All double rollers are not created equal

No plastic in the chain. Referring to the plastic surface of the tensioner.

All double rollers are not created equal

That doesn't really answer my question. Should I take the chain off the 340 which has about 1500 miles on it and switch it with the other one? I purchased that one 20 years ago. Maybe that's better quality. Possibly made in the US. HaHa

All double rollers are not created equal

Purchased a timing chain tensioner from Mancini Racing for a 360 magnum stroker build. Also purchased a mopar performance double roller chain from Jegs. I have read a few horror stories about the plastic getting eaten up on the chain tensioner due to either poor quality of the plastic or the...

    360magnum timing chain oiling

Putting together a 410 stroker based off the Powernation build using the Trick Flow Powerport 190 heads. Purchased a combo cam retainer plate/tensioner from Mancini that is listed for the 360 magnum. My question relates to how the timing chain is oiled. There isn't anything mentioned in the...

Won't gravity eventually work the cross bolts to the bottom of the slots in the Kframe if you raise the engine up?

    tti header fitment

Thanks for all the pics. Very helpful. Especially the one with the FF sector shaft support installed. I was considering getting the headers bare and having them coated after I checked all clearances. Anyone had to make minor modifications? Have some of you found the dimensions they want you...

    tti header fitment

It was sheer luck. Comp told me there were over 200 orders for my cam and they were still waiting for cores. That was a month ago. I was just checking Summit for the cam specs to see if I could find something similar, and it said there were 2 in stock. Couldn't believe it. Couldn't press...

    tti header fitment

Considering purchasing TTI headers for an engine build using Trick Flows Powerport 190 heads. TTI recommends only using their 1 7/8" race headers. They say they are the only ones that will bolt up properly. I also want to find out if anyone has used these headers that has a Firm Feel sector...

    340 TA Value

I have a 340 TA engine that I am considering stroking and would like some opinions as to weather the engine is more valuable to resell as an original TA or not. I would like to use the original 6pack setup. Heads are all original except for porting and polishing. Bore is .030 over. I could...

    Engine vibration

I believe the fluid is at the proper level. I will check again tomorrow. Any chance the converter isn't filling with fluid properly?
