So before I even attempt to take the headlight bezels out of my 68 Barracuda (to remove some dings) I'm looking to get some tips from someone who has removed them before. As well as maybe an explanation or exploded drawing on how they attach. My car is missing several of the perimeter screws...

That's what I'm thinking is the problem. Button is not adjusted correctly. I will give it a few turns one way or the other & see what happens

I think I may need to look at shifter under the console as well. The positions on the shifter don't seem to snap into position very well.... they seem sloppy. If you know what I mean. Kind of like the button is partially depressed (is that possible??)) Maybe the notches in the shifter are worn??

Do all of the factory console shifters have a 1st gear position?? Can they all be manually shifted into 1st?? I'm having a problem getting mine adjusted to be able to manually shift into 1st. Am I missing something here

I think one major problem is the 273 intake on the 360 so that is one of the first things I need to do

After that I think a good aftermarket intake make sure it's sealed well. Maybe that will get me somewhere

This mid 70s 360 has the marks on the driver's side which puts it behind the water pump and steering pump. I just bought a bolt on tab for the passenger side. I will need to make a new mark on the damper.

Edelbrock Performer 750. I do suspect timing too. I won't know til I get a timing tab I can read. Vac leak is possible too. Vac guage is really low.

Sounds like the best and easiest way is to remove steering pump, wrench it over til timing mark is 0 at driverside mark and then add a new mark on passenger side that matches 0 on bolt on tab

What improvement should I expect after swapping out intakes. That 273-4 intake that is on it certainly can't be a good thing on a 360. There is absolutely no bottom end performance to this thing the way it is

Nevermind on timing tab... It's driver side. Where you can't see it under the h2o pump.

I also see that it has no timing tab on the passenger side. Shouldn't it have one??

Need 2 US mag or similar center caps. The kind with 5 tabs and screws...2 1/8 inches between screw holes. Look around thru your boxes please

It will be a lot of work for sure. Maybe I will keep an eye out for a spare pair of headlight bezels and work on mine in the meantime.
