    Leaky bypass pipe

Before you start the jabs I'm quite aware. So I replaced the Streetmaster intake with an off shore air gap on my 318, all went well and it works nice but the pipe plug on the by pass is a bit too close to the water jacket. I don't know if it's the thread and pipe dope I used or the hose and...

    Best sealing valve cover gaskets

Well I just removed and reinstalled, I clearanced the #1 and #5 area a bit more seemed a little close also added nuts to the studs before the T nuts, maybe the studs were a tad too long? Time will tell, had to clean up the underside of the car of oil and now it's raining out... Go figure

    Best sealing valve cover gaskets

Ahh sounds reasonable, yeah I glued these on, they have a ridge around the sealing surface...ever see that, I bet the cork is softer and will seal better. I'm gonna try a 1/4" 20 tomorrow and see if I can get it tighter than the T nuts

    Best sealing valve cover gaskets

I couldn't get the cork local had to run the Felpro black composite (hard as hell) crap...that and the wing nuts can't get it tight enough? Gonna snug up with 1/4" 20 nuts first.

    Best sealing valve cover gaskets

Well I'm thinking maybe the winged bolts aren't tight enough, so I went and got some 1/4" 20 nuts, going to install them first and torque them down, the wing nuts will go over that.

904 neutral/back up light switch question

My switch is leaking from the center plastic portion of the switch, it's not a functional switch as I have a shifter with switch and it's the long type....can I replace it with the short type, just using it basically as a plug?

    Valve cover grommets

I like that Mopar one for pcv, looks like the one I removed...do they have an equalivant but for a 1" breather? Those cheap wide groove ones wiggle in the hole :)

  18. I

    Valve cover grommets

Okay before I start these are needed for cast aluminum covers, the holes are 1 1/4" but your standard China jobs are loose, these used Holley covers i got had one grommet in the hole (see pix) and it was tight and even looked Mopar type but different. And one know of a good quaity grommet for...

    Trans speedo gear number 904

I read some wrong info on speedo gears a while back on my 904 as I now have a slew of wrong gears. I have now acquired a chart to show me the right gear to get. What I'm running is a 235/60-15 tire (26") with a 3.31 rear gear so I should be running a 33 tooth gear? Does the lower the speedo gear...

Just a precaution on rebuilt 904 transmission

Okay everything is finished an took it for its main voyage, I ended up adjusting the cable with no free play, shift from 1st to 2nd okay but 3rd is a little late....at 30mph in the hood it wants to stay in 2nd. When should it shift at light load?, or even will it. Can you increase cable...

Instructions say to open carb WOT and set the KD cable to do the same. That's what I did, just making sure though I would ask for others opinions.
