Actually the gas tank was in great shape. It had a small dent/knock in a area I don’t know how it would have got there... but once it was installed you could not see it. I still cleaned to crap out of it and used a product call redkote on the inside of it. It’s used on aircraft fuel tanks.

    1961 Valiant Wagon

Hiya, The wagon is a 1961 Plymouth Valiant. Hence the 61 trim wear. It was built in the first week of November 1960. The 1960 model year ends September 1960... And the 61 model year start 1st October 1960.. So I took the liberty of pretending I ordered this car in September of 60 but they...

Digging through the draws at home to find something else and I pull out some nos spark plug leads I had purchased off Len Dawson years ago... I recently read that mopar didn’t print on their spark plug leads until 1961. But the ones I have are dated 3Q 60. Which match the build date (November...

This was a win.... a colleague recently imported a 1960 valiant station wagon into Australia. And it still had 1 rear tailgate area wiring grommet on it. I have seen a lot of wagons over time but this was the first time one still had the grommet. This piece goes into the body below where the...

Yes roof racks were available in 1962. Not sure if they were factory but 100% dealer for sure. Would have made more sense to be factory but I will have to check my books for you.

I have never found a full complete kit all at once. Only parts here and there. Most people just laugh at you and say it’s a impossible task. But over time I have got almost all the pieces. The linkage I am making up from photos from old time period magazines. The task now is to find a second...

Any knowledge on 60/61 Heater hose markings would be great. I got this a fair while ago now. I am unsure if its Australian or North American (I just cant remember). I don't really see the DPCD logo used on printed items in Australia...Only on North American mopars. This hose has no ribbing...

Now the doors are on, on the right hand side of the wagon the trim can start to go on. I had already done all the window winder mechanisms and installed them before we hung the doors, which made them heavier to hold in place and adjust but I had a great bunch of guys helping so it made it easier...

I am not sure how many wiring looms came from how many suppliers but I often find tags like these on NOS looms and even on older looms out of the Early Valiants and Lancers. Any more knowledge about these types of labels would be great.

A couple of quick up dates. First one is... While the decals aren't going on yet, I like to see where they might look the best. So I just place them on without actually sticking them on. Also mucking around with the placement of the optional Tissue Master box.

looking good Mike, what's that clamped on top of the passengers inner guard? Hiya Marty, That's the jack. On Wagons that came with the 3rd seat option, they were spare wheel delete cars.
