707 Hell Cat, what does it mean?

One thing's the same... just like 40 years ago, the really fast cars cost roughly twice that of the "normal" version and few can afford them. I don't think I could afford the insurance on a 700HP, $75,000 car, never mind the car itself.

Have the code Nazis hit on your car?

That's right, because the fire hydrant isn't a source of revenue for the city and I'm sure some politician got his name in the paper because "he" helped the kids. The first paragraph of the FAQ the OP attached proves my point. Allow me to translate: "Due to the poor economy and terrible...

Have the code Nazis hit on your car?

Give that a try and let us know how that works out for ya. If a code, ordinance or law is a significant source of revenue, there's no way they're going to change it. Meanwhile, how can anyone justify coming on your land and stealing your belongings? If you are in violation, the municipality...

    Almost best car prank...

A former coworker thought he was funny and would mess with my car. The first time having my wipers on and radio blaring when I start the car... Ok, ha ha, you got me, don't mess with my car again. After the 3rd or 4th time... he had some payback coming. I got in his car and disabled the power...

Best looking "beak" car I've ever seen!

I like the grille as well but it looks like the tip of the beak is pointed down a little. Doesn't look right. Very nicely done car otherwise.

So many (Pree ***) idiots, so little time........

I though that image looked familiar... At least the Fuel Pacer didn't require you to take your eyes off the road.

So many (Pree ***) idiots, so little time........

IDK about the Pree ***, but the Ford hybrids have the ultimate tree hugger "app" built into the dash. The more economically you drive, the more leaves and flowers grow in the display. I'm sure the Pree *** has something similar. I can just see these tree huggers driving around trying to make...

1967 Match Race 'Dart GTS 383' vs 'Firebird 326 H.O.'

Well, between that and the subframe/bushing issues it's a wonder any of them went straight at all... I'm SO glad my Dad bought a Dart Swinger back in '71. He could have just as easily walked into the Chevy dealership across the street and bought a Nova. That Dart became my first car. It and...

1967 Match Race 'Dart GTS 383' vs 'Firebird 326 H.O.'

IIRC, the Nova, Ventura, Omega, etc. had problems shearing off the centering bolts on the rear leaf springs causing the rear end to shift position on the spring and consequently steer the rear of the car to one side. A friend of mine had a '68 or '69 Firebird back in the day. Another friend...

    727 2nd to 3rd flare up

On the 1-2 shift, all that happens is the kickdown band applies to stop the front drum from turning. In 3rd gear, the front drum needs to turn again so the kickdown band has to release and the front clutch has to apply at exactly the same time. The timing is critical. If the band releases...

    Tincup's 63 Dart w/5.7 Hemi

X2! I was at the Adirondack Nationals, saw the car in person and met Tin. I'm glad I walked the show a second time because I don't think the car was there during my first time through in the morning. Anyway, pictures don't do the car justice. What an awesome build! This car redefines early A's.

    Any NEON owners out there?

Head gasket problems were mostly on the 1st gens ('95-'99) by '00 they had MLS gaskets from the factory. Also, the '00 has the 3-speed A-413 trans (mini 904) - no problems there. One thing to look out for is rust/rot on the front suspension crossmember and control arms. If someone complains...

Feature Magazine Coverage for Scrapyard Scamp

I love unusual swaps, and this one is right up there. I personally would prefer to see it all Mopar, but Mother mopar has let us down many times over the years, so I can understand the need/urge to defect. I would love to see this built to 700hp! Nice work!
